Great company to work for

every day is new challenges in my work situation.my work a day is to see that the Bill of material is correct because it is the bible for production. also attending meetings. we are a group diversity people in our department and I can relate to anybody at any level. I learn a lot in the few years at Volkswagen we use different systems. the most I enjoy of my work is been the new challenges and the people I worked with. most challenges of the job is to make sure that the line never stop because of the structuring of the bill of material

Pros: it is a big company with a lot of oppertumities
Cons: 8 hours

Exclelent learning about parts

Its been an amazing 5 years for me coming from car side to parts side. I have leaned a lot in terms of parts analysis, marketing and pricing. My job require me to work with different departments. This has assisted me a lot to be able to work and develop relationships with fellow employees from other departments. I enjoy analysing which parts sell better and which ones have challenges. This enables me to do more research to understand where are we losing sales on specific parts groups and come up with campaigns to regain lost sales. I do a lot of pricing analysis to make sure that our parts are in line with the independent aftermarket to make sure we dont lose customers.

Pros: Ability to influence the market and Dealerships
Cons: Long processes that needs to be followed to change parts prices and approval of campaigns

Eight to Great

The work is to trouble shoot problems and support production in day to day operations. Brainstorming with other team members in crossfunctional teams is reinforced in order to sustain activities. Lessons learn is enriching and teach team members much about other departments. The work is interesting and keep one motivated and challenged.

Pros: Making a difference
Cons: Continuous time management

I was employed by an Engineering Construction and Consulting Company, Theshani Trading Enterprise (Pty) Ltd, on a one year contract as part of P1&P2 in-service Training in 2017. In January 2018, I was granted the opportunity to participate in the In-service (P1&P2 Training) that is offered by the well-known automotive company Volkswagen South Africa (Pty) Ltd. Upon successful completion of the In-service Training, In March 2019 I was offered an Experiential Training opportunity through the Yes Program initiative as an Electrical Technician trainee by VWSA at Quality Assurance QVAC (Quality Vehicle Analysis Centre) department.

A Challenging yet enjoyable working environment within a Global Powerhouse

A work day entails resolving queries of various user arrears-Overheads, Labour, CAPEX, compiling finance review presentations for areas and Costing Studies.I have excellent relationships with my colleagues and I am able to communicate at various levels within the organisation & have learnt key concepts in overhead control, budgeting & forecasting as well as costing of components.I have also learnt to remain calm under pressure & that I am a promoter of my own brand.I thoroughly enjoy Financial forecasting, negotiation, networking with various role players on critical decisions a compiling interesting studies for the Board of Management meetings. Some challenges include having user arrears realise the importance of specific deadlines in order to compile info in a timeous manner as well as the lack of flexibility within user arrears. Another challenge often faced is meeting the targets set by our mother company who does not fully understand the unique climate within the South African Manufacturing industry.

Pros: Opportunity for Promotion, a New challenge, Opportunity for self leadership and more responsibilty
Cons: Lack of Flexibilty, Change Averse on occasions
