University of Johannesburg Reviews

Excellent learning curve ,challenging

The tutoring taught me to be patient and considerate of other people,it taught me to be able to interact with different types of people. The demonstrating was worse then the tutoring as it was more demanding and exhausting .

Pros: Great exposure to different types of people
Cons: Having to work long hours

Physical suport

The company is catering students with education. Teaching and research is the core business of the company. Student participating in different activities, we as physical support and operation we are helping with carrying out the jobs that will make continue with their studies for example we are making sure that all electrical equipment are up to date, emergency, generators are ready in case there is a power failure

Pros: Our suport to the student is very important, it becomes very difficult for the university to run its daily work if there is no suport from us, so the people on top appreciate our contribution and treat us with respect for the output we are giving to the company.
Cons: Because we are comitted to serve, working normal hours is not that important on our line of work because some of the researches that are being done by the student are conducted at night where an emplyee is about to rest, but because the agreement that you signed with the employer binds you to work then you must do according to it. stand by and overtimes is something that we normally do.

Excellent learning curve

On a daily basis i render tutorial and coordinate practicals as well as to handle student inquiries. The kind of relationship i have with my co-workers is amazing since we are all striving students, with the same aim to be the best in what we do, it is a motivational relationship filled with inspiration and courage. I have learnt to be patient, to work hard, to understand what im doing, presentation skills, communication skills and mostly to enjoy what i do rather than to let the negativity crush you down. i enjoyed learning new things on a daily basis, i enjoyed the fact that i was responsible for inspiring young students to love studying and being part of a building block in a persons life. The most challenging aspect was the fact that i deal with various characters same of them would disrespect me, having to make them respect time and submission was hard. some of the time i had to go the extra mile to get more done for example call the students to check and working over time.

Pros: was a great learning curve
Cons: Long working hours

Excellent

I am a hard-working university student (BSc Computer Science and Informatics) currently attending University of Johannesburg doing my last year(2018). Throughout my academic career, I have been consistently praised as adaptable by my mentors and peers. While working on academic and extracurricular projects, I have developed proven teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills, which I hope to leverage into the Software Development role at your company.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: Long working hours
