Interesting time spent at a Higher Learning Institution

I worked in an upbeat environment, the professionality is what kept the office afloat at all times. All the co-workers had great working relations. I've picked up on the manner in which to deal with conflict in order to satisfy the protocol and the individual needs of those deemed clients.

Pros: Good office space
Cons: Labour practices

Excellent

Is all good to work with positive people and in good environment where everyone else is happy and gaining more experience and knowledge about work. Working as team. Learning more about how to use computers and advice students with their registration. The most challenging aspects is when is very full at school and students strike or fighting then we will have to deal with the issues. Sometimes systems just go offline and we will have to wait for more than 30 minutes.

Pros: Great
Cons: 8 hours

Great exposure to work with different stakeholders in SA,

A typical work day include, getting to the office, liaise with other 29+ UNISA regional centers regarding online signature module receive telephone calls and emails complaints from students and co-workers from regional centers and resolving them with a turnaround time of 48 hours I work well with my co-workers, whereby I support them in resolving difficult and challenging enquirers. I have learnt to rely and trust my co-workers especially after a dispensation of duties and tasks, also to work diligently and professionally at the same time managing expectations. I enjoy travelling to visit other regional centers as it gives an opportunity to engage with co-workers who I normally talk to through the phone and email, as this helps me to understand their environment and students. It is never static, it is forever evolving and changing and in with technology always moving forward, it is a challenge that actually helps me grow and adapt.

Pros: Opportunity to explore and grow as a professional
Cons: none I can think of, except I feel unappreciated

Leaning experience

Have gracefully enjoyed working here, learned a lot new systems, improved in terms of management skills, communication skills, meet wonder people that inspired me gracefully. Most challenging was to deal with clients or students who did not understand the terms and conditions of the company. But manage to handle most situations.

Pros: Great opportunity
Cons: Long hours as in when required

It will be a great opportunity for me and to build on the work expierence i already have

A typical work day at the company where i was working is mainly admin work ,sorting out exam scripts, capturing students exam scripts, quality control on exam scripts.I have learnt to work along people of different ages and backgrounds and that has improved my interpersonal skills.I enjoyed working with people of diferent ages it taught m e alot about people and life. The most challenging aspect was having to meet the deadlines and working under pressure to meet those deadlines.

Pros: It will be a great opportunity for job security and stability.
Cons: im not sure maybe working far would be a disadvantage

Empowering

Prepare for the work to be done for the day and device with my team of 20 which it was 10 males and 10 females.the next task is to have a meeting with our supervisor on the report of how work was carried the previous day and discuss the strategies on how we gonna accomplish finishing the days work on time and improve on problems that we overlook the first time.it taught me to work as a team and respect other people and open up to ideas from other individuals.working together made us more of a family which I enjoyed very much and our supervisor was like a mother to us.the most challenging part was to learn how to use the system which doesn't allow mistakes because we were deal in capturing and releasing of student marks.

Pros: opportunity for growth
Cons: working overtime

Challenging and yet you learn a lot

I work at a university where you interact with different ethnic groups on a daily basis, that includes students. i register their assignments on the system before they can be passed on to lecturers for further marking, some of the challenges we meet is students not numbering their assignments correctly and you have to get hold of the student. After all we have a good work relationship with my colleagues as we work as a team to make sure that everybody walks out happy. It is a work with a lot of pressure as you deal with people with different temper so i've learnt to keep a cool head at all times and be as accurate as i can,I enjoy my work cause it is challenging and you always exchange knowledge with the students both young and old.

Pros: you have an opportunity to upgrade your academic record as you are allowed to study with the school..
Cons: none
