Best place to start a career

I have learnt how to work well and behave in a team. The working environment is friendly and my colleagues are the best, as a graduate i am given an opportunity to explore and learn in different fields within IT. I work flexible hours but its challenging at times because i have to be at work before 7 and i stay far, but overall i can say Stanlib is the best place to start a career. i have learnt a lot and my colleagues are always willing to assist where possible.

Great learning curve

I was part of the creditors team . I dealt with queries and people and clients everyday. I'm a great team player and I can also work alone. I can work under pressure and reach deadlines. The only downside about my previous employer is not supportive to person growth.

Team work makes the dream work

The company has hard dedicated worker willing to learn and broaden my knowledge.The is flexible working hours, opportunity to upgrade qualifications via bursary.

I am currently on sabbatical, took time out from August last year & now back in the market.

I am no longer with Stanlib but during my time there I was responsible for the rest of Africa portfolio and heading up the HR business partners. I enjoyed the opportunity to work with the 10 countries & rolling out strategic HR projects to align with SA.

Pros: Great team
Cons: Decisions took too long

Excellent learning opportunities.

I have learned communicative skills. I can use the computer programmes well. I am hard working, target driven and i can work under pressure. What i enjoy most is the team work we give abd how we work well with each other. Respect is the most important behavior.

Pros: more opportunities to grow.
Cons: when systems is slow and we have to work.

Brief background

Form part of the CSI and CI team as a brand graduate, I review creative artwork and briefed agencies. Do budget forecasting in preparation for audits. Plan, organize and run several campaigns from inception till execution. Assisted in building a strategy for CSI. Make sure I build good relationships with suppliers and pay them in time for their service. I have learnt to work proactively and adjust to different personalities.

Pros: Great opportunity to be absorbed
Cons: The company is restructuring
