Gain experience on Safety of the people

The most typical day at work it when I have to be a safety stand for a job that takes the whole day to be completed. Me and my co-workers we get along with each other so much to a point that if we can see that you have been an safety Standby for that job for more than hours we relief each other so the other person can be able to eat and rest. I have learnt that safety and production it the most important priority at Sasol and that rules are being obeyed once broken you face consequences for that. Working with people of different age,gender,race and job description they had because it made me to be exposed in such places. When you have to be an Safety Standby at night and when it very cold at the open space and always ave to careful of harmful gases.

Pros: If the contract was longer or I was an permanent I was going to get promoted because there's always an opportunity at Sasol of seeing people growing inside their company and help them with rise and grow with knowledge.
Cons: It very good because of what I have learnt in such a short period of time,Sasol it very good with people and their Safety with rules that are hardly to be broken and also loyal to their workers.

Excellent opportunity to work there

The job was fun n very challenging at the same tym. I worked well with my team mates especially my leadership they delegated most work tome. Ive learnt team work and to work under pressure. I ve learned many new skills like communication in a meeting and computer usage. The most challenging aspect abt the job was having a leak on the plant whn it rains..

We working on very critical equipment thats a great deal of experience

I'm working in the workshop,doing pumps,gearboxes,fluid drives and decanters,as planned work sometimes we have them as emergency work.I'm a team player always willing to share information where required and ask for help if I'm stuck.I enjoy working on emergency work because it give me more capacity to learn.coming up with alternative whenever is due on critical work.

Pros: Involving myself in all the work we do and always being available when needed.
Cons: I'm available at any time for standby and long hours.

Brilliant team player but also a Leader

My experiences vary greatly. I'm a team player but also a excellent leader. I tend to lead by example, by showing and educate, train and develope team members, changing their behaviour to see the importance of their job roles. Make them resposible but also committed to start using their full potential as far as possible. I have learned that all people are different, so approaching my daily tasks will always be team orientated and to get the job done, safest, timorous and better than the previous attempt. The most challenging aspects would be to perform a tasks that is out of scope or apart from normal routine. But this is also where I perform my best by utilising brain storming, hazop and other systems to approach, plan, review and execute with precision. I'm a duly advance for any company, and can work independently with even greater results.

Isolation and de-isolation of plant, Shift handover System alignment/configuration System periodic testing and commissioning Maintaining a chronological log of plant events on shift Local operation of plant-start-up and shutdown of systems Local monitoring of plant Recording parameters and assessing material condition Perform any other legitimate activity as required Generation work orders for maintenance to perform repairs

­ Daily unit monitoring towards optimization, identification and mitigation of threats forms a key aspect towards deliverables. ­ Assist in the selection and approval of appropriate suppliers for development in line with the Sasol’s Supplier Quality Management programme Assist in conduct formal evaluations on key suppliers, materials, goods and services to monitor effective management of high risk materials ­ I manage a team of technical officers/ technicians in solving technical problems arising from different plants.

Pros: ­ Daily unit monitoring towards optimization, identification and mitigation of threats forms a key aspect towards deliverables.
Cons: ­ Develop the elements of process to help with the hierarchy of decision making. E.g. Unit Health check-sheets, Deviation notices, trends, basis and advanced monitoring tools etc.
