Great learning opportunities, lots of work, overtime, pressure

There is a lot of work to be completed. Lots of pressure to keep the plant running, lot of instruments and electrical work to learn from. Great team to work with, eager to assist and teach. Learnt the essentials of planning for your jib, working and interacting with contractors. Constantly having to "kill fires", to ensure plant is running

Pros: Opportunities to learn, good working relationships
Cons: Long hours, working under pressure, some employees favored more than others, superiors have no qualifications

Good learning opertunity

Every day is fast paced and also changing all the time. This is not a position that you will stagnate in and you are always learning. The people always work in teams and there is a good team spirit between us. What I enjoy most is the freedom to create and implement Bussiness improvements eg cost savings and better reporting tools.

I manage by human relation where Company HSE/SHEQ objectives are meet in time through team work.

Everyday I do walkbout inspection and weekly audit through the whole plant just to check any deviation from previous shift. I have learned behaviour of people toward safety culture how to make them understand the aspect of health and safety. I enjoy working with difference people irrespective of colour, culture or religion, I like to interact with people in most. To my experience in SHE career, the most cahallenging part is to change the behavoiur of people, even though you will win at the end.

Pros: I would like to grow in the company that I am working.
Cons: I would like to give attention to my work, until I finished it irrespective of working hours.

Working with teams

Working in a challenging company which stretches me, makes me to learn more. I am so proud of my company because it develops its employees and also pays for our studies. I'm a buyer servicing 4 plants, Engineering Services, SHEQ, LOGISTICS and LAB, Its so challenging because they all need my attention for their critical orders and I serve them on daily basis. There is great opportunities to grow at SAMANCOR

Excellent learning environment , obtained grate Mirco office skills , SAP basic and workflow

Grate team company prides itself on it values and thus you become part of the companies mission and vision the moment you are part of the team , in my first year as a trainee I was able to organise band co-ordinate company functions , forms,meetings as well as cultural activities, developed my communication skills professional aswell as obtained advance computer skills working on LM,SAP basic and workflow as well as Microsoft office, outlook be compiled, co-ord

Knowledge is power

I have worked with Samancor for 6 plus years now where i have learned my trade and qualified within. Excellent however lack of promotion opportunities unless well qualified on an engineering level or well know amongst managers. Team work is a joke, staff is under commited.

Great platform to apply engineering

Applying engineering gives opportunities to learn the basics fundamentals o.f operations. Culture and environment are flexible and open minded. Working under pressure provides excellent opportunity to develop and discover more strengths within self.

New to chrome industry and I have learn a lot in smelting

Day tod day like to couch other worker in skills development Enjoy working with team who are newly qualified instrument technician The OST challenge things is ore on EW project development and nstastandby even not on your sectionroutine maintenance

Pros: More learning in Siemens pcs7
