Excellent experience

Working for RCL Foods has been a great experience to me when i started honestly i was a bit scared it was a big company with lots of people but after few days i felt like i am at home the warm welcome the employees gave me even the management team especially the manager. They took me through the induction from A-Z about what the company is about when i started working i just loved what i did and i learned so many things in just few days the way i enjoyed my work i did not mind to stay behind after working hours learning to do some of the job besides the one i was doing during the production time. i now have a lot experiences i even help my supervisor with her job if she is in meetings or off or perherps in a leave.the challenging thing about my job is that the company is not making lot ot profit because of the poutry the country is importing from outside countries. the relationship with the other workers is so great they are like my brothers and sisters.

Change is the only constant

No planning can be done for the day as your become a firefighter - co -workers do not know the scope of their duties and need help most times. I have however learnt to be much more patient as our systems are always slow. Having a salary Customer complaints and systems errors become a daily challenge

Pros: I get my daily loaf of bread
Cons: dealing with fires everyday

I have a good relationship with my co workers I leant that its very important to motivate people brcause its give you a better result What i enjoy most is to work with people and working as ateam.what challenging the most is IR issues as well as breakdoens

Great industry but lousy systems to manage the work

My typical work day begins as a fire fighter because of my relationship with all the people at work. Patience is what I have learnt in this company as everything is haste and waste and the most enjoyable aspect is knowing that due to effort on my part every household gets to have a loaf of bread. Not having the authority that goes with the responsibility of my job

When there is work to do it is fun and there is much to learn

- recruitment is the main focus, especially of females and disabled employees, which is the most difficult because of the lack of applicants received and most disabled employees are always discouraged to apply to positions due to personal reasons - excellent relationship with colleagues

Pros: great opportunity for growth
Cons: Not much to keep myself busy or develop myself

Excellent opportunity to expand my knowledge and experience in the industry

Planning , executing, reporting and following up on audit assignments. Performing work independently or with a team. Supervising junior team members. Gained a lot of experience in the manufacturing and retails industry through research and performing audit work. Enjoyed the impact the Control Enhancement Program I independently performed and reported for the Baking division. Managed to deliver quality after having in the 2 years I have been with the firm. Obtained knowledge during a challenging Biological Assets Audit.

Pros: Compony benefits such as housing allowance and being led by a team of managers with strong background and experience.
Cons: Small space of time between out of town audits

Experience

Excellent growth opportunities. Diversified food manufacturing capabilities, hard work does pay of but will have to sacrifice personal time Centralized organizational structure that could lead to frustration as decision making takes longer than the norm. Results driven with high level of expectations. Middle Management level could suffer in long run as level of authority does not accompany responsibilities and span of control.

i enjoy working in a team as much as i can work individually without any supervisions, a typical working day will be working 9 hours in a day and the most frustrating thing about my job is when you need to do finalise or finish up and close the farm only to find out that the paper work is wrong and the calculations were not done correct and when you try to find one of the farmers to come and rectify their mistakes its either they are not there or they make excusses like the assistant did the mistakes not them. the relationship with my coworkers is excellent we are helping each other in every challenge we come across and we solve problems together i really enjoy working with people who are always willing to help when ever you need help. i have learned that when you are on duty you just take every challenge as it comes and do your best to make sure that you meet deadlines.

Career aspirations: Register for Honours Degree (HR/Industrial & Organizational Psychology) – 2018

RCL Foods is a highly unionized organization and therefore I have been exposed to high level of negotiation and Industrial/Employee Relations matters. I managed to develop healthy relationship with colleagues, management, shop stewards and customers Since I joined RCL Foods in 2007, I have learnt to be firm, accountable and also acquired leadership and presentation skills. I enjoy interacting with people and assisting them. I enjoy working with friendly, flexible colleagues, I enjoy working on SAP HR/Payroll system. Most challenging aspect of my job is to deal with uneducated old employees who sometimes refuse to accept changes in the organization.
