Excellent experienced gained from working here.

During my two years of working for Protea Hotels I have learned so much about the hospitality industry that I never even thought I would learn. Working with the front desk team helped me to step out of my comfort zone and learn guest service delivery at its best.

It's a great company to work for, it has good opportunities

Meeting different people everyday from across the world exciting. My colleagues and I have strong relationship and we're eager to help one another. You need to push yourself in order to succeed in life. Working with numbers and especially companies revenue it gives me an understanding on how a company is generating its revenue. Working with different people from across the world which some of them are a bit sceptical about the country

I was working Monday to Sunday me and my workers we were working as a family I have learned lot of things about my job and myself I enjoyed receiving call from the VIP the challenging aspect was that i we volunteering

A way to enhance my customer service skills and learn to manage.

A amazing experience with co workers, learn to engage with new and different minded people. Due to me being a trainee, I am learning each and everything within the particular department so by the end of the traineeship I can be hired in any department that may have a vacancy.

I’m one individual that loves exceeding Guest or Clients expectations

Our hotel is one very busy hotel, one has to adapt with the work load and pressure I work with amazing people, staff is verry friendly at all times yes at times thing around the hotel it not always happy go lucky but one thing I’ve learned is that a person should always see a way out to solve a problem and lean from what has happened. I must I’ve learned so much around the hotel as a whole from all departments. I really enjoy working in a enthusiastic eniromemt where I will always learn new things, interacting with Guest it Clients I what I love at most.

Pros: You become more independent due to the work load and pressure and able to handle different situation one encounters
Cons: Working hours are reasonable and does accommodate oneself

Career Growth

I have worked for hotel franchises for too long now and wish to get into the corporate sector. I have dealt with many different clients and companies which together have pulled off very successful events. I do enjoy my job very much but I feel the corporate sector is where I belong.

Pros: Staff members 1st. Beautiful property. Good potential for growth
Cons: Long hours. Jealous. Back biting.

I'm a hard work my relationship with co-workers we are a team that help each other I have learned how to clean a room and even how to communicate with quest the moment I enjoy mostly is when l'm at front desk were I experience lot of things the Most challenging is when we're doing 15 rooms and we're I meet quest who don't know english very well

Good experience and growth

Working shift. Meeting, greeting and exceeding guests expectations.setting up tables.serving different foods and drinks. getting to know and interact with different people with different cultures.

Dip occupational health and safety

I have worked at Protea hotel as a receptionist in Richards bay i then got a promotion then went to reservation. I then found another job in Durban at Andaluz hotel i worked there for 1 solid year as a reservationist and reception manager. Then again i switched careers and i went into the call center department i was working for an overseas company called talk talk in the disconnections department.I really enjoy helping people it and being around people as i am a bubbly and out going person
