Ppc Cement Reviews

PPC is a great organisation.

If provided with the opportunity, I will bring many years of general and specialist HR experience to your organisation. During my last 7 years in a 16 year career with a multinational cement manufacturing and distribution company, I focused mainly on all aspects of the Group Learning and Development and Talent Management function. During my earlier career with the same organisation, I played an instrumental role in an Organisational Transformation and Development initiative which added significant operational value to the business. I am a values driven person with a passion for coaching and sharing of knowledge. I believe firmly in the value contribution of each and every employee within a conducive and high performing organisation culture.

Pros: Career growth
Cons: Company going through challenging economical times.

No development

You stay on same position for a long time,no development,no training. Do the routine work every day with no challenges.salaries doesn't grow that much. They do not consider your certification if you are a qualified person. Relationship with the coworkers is fine ,it only changes when the supervisor starts to do favouritism. We work very hard as most of the time we have to work overtimes and we also struggle to get leaves.

Pros: None
Cons: 12_16 hours per day

Fantastic experience gained

When i started at PPC, I only had retail experience. PPC taught me so much and i learnt about email etiquette, Office suite as well as SAP and Onkey. I started as a receptionist and soon spread my wings and transferred to another city. I gained invaluable experience in a corporate world that I will take with me for the rest of my days. It was at PPC where i first flew in a plane to go to training or even a function in another city. The journey was good but like all seasons, it must come to an end and my season at PPC has come to an end.

Pros: Great opportunity for growth
Cons: Early morning starting times.

Excellent learning curve and knowledge of the industry

The typical workday is always busy and one do not do the same projects, the environment is ever-changing. My relationship with co-workers is remarkable as I get along with everyone internal and external workers. I have learnt in this industry is to be detailed orientated, have good networking skills, self-motivated and Perceptive and Creative.I enjoyed the events side and follow-ups with clients. The most challenging aspect of the job is writing as there were hardly any writing I did beside few articles and every time there was something of writing I was told that my grammar is not good.

Pros: Networking and exposure
Cons: Long working hours

Exposure in the plant was my favourite

Working for PPC cement was exciting even though I was just a graduate. The exposure to different types of production machinery was a life time experience. Completing the maintains on daily basis and watching the plant run because of the work you did was fulfilling. Working as a maintenance engineer combines both technical and management aspects of the jobs, you deal with contractors that you need to manage and ensure they do everything accordingly and you also focus on solving the technical problems of the plant, that is troubleshooting and find the core of the problem on the break down.

Pros: Exposure is very good
Cons: Not having enough time to be in all the important places where core maintainance is being carried out

A great lwarnin

Overall I have worked for two companies, PPC cement and khulanonke. PPC cement was based on maintenance, which was most interesting in terms of exposure of machinery and management. The solving of problems in the plant was the technical part and handling the contractors that come onsite to ensure they do everything accordingly was based om the management part. The combination of both the technical and management part was what I enjoyed the most. Working for khulanonke was based on academic aspects of things. The most interesting part of the job was stake holder engagement where you need to convince a stake holder to take in the number of learners you were managing

Pros: Exposure is very good
Cons: No mentors to help you grow
