High Pressured Enviroment

Hours are generally from 08h00 – 17h00, Monday to Friday. Due to the workload, it is nearly impossible to take a break throughout the day. I have 8 Junior Managers (Team Leaders) reporting directly to me. My day encompasses authorizing leave, strategic planning daily, transport co-ordination for the department, staff relations, training and everything highlighted in my CV. At times, I would be available afterhours if any of the Junior Managers have an issue or concern. What I don’t enjoy the most is that we are 2 Operations Managers yet I have the largest team in our department and country. Therefore the relationship with my fellow co-worker is not as great as tasks get shifted to me constantly. I have learnt to adapt immediately to situations and think on the spot for solutions when an issue arise. What I enjoy the most is working with the people of the department.

Excellent learning curve

Great company to work for. They look after their employees. We do not get many leave days and the working hours is sometimes long. I consider our company the laboratory of choice. Passion for my work and high level of commitment to grow with the company. I am driven, right skills with many years of experience in medical field.

Excellent place to work at. Good people. Important work. My job entails helping other people.

I am a coordinator in the transport department. I have 145 couriers who I supervise on a shift basis in the whole cape town area. I deal with customers, internally and externally. My basic job description is to get medical specimens from point A to B in the fastest possible time. The job is very demanding but satisfying. I have an excellent relationship with my colleagues. I know each of them on a first name and surname basis. I have learnt to multitask effectively, work in a high pressure environment as a team and have a can do approach to everything that gets thrown at us. I enjoy working with and interacting with different people in all walks of life.

Great work experience but no growth

Great relationships between workers. Shift are hectic they dont allow employees to have any other life expect work. most enjoyable field of work due to findings we get. Opportunity to work and build professional relationship between workers and doctors.

Tenacious

Working in an oncology environment is fun in a sense that there’s always something new to learn It has helped me to grow as a person and how to handle pressure. I’m a quick learning always looking for room for growth in a company. Work well under pressure, working with patients, knowing that at the end of the day I have helped someone just makes me happy

LEARNED A LOT

I love working with people and making friends in the work place. It makes your day so much better to get along with people you work with. I work shifts and weekends at the moment and I dont have a lot of spare time.
