I work a 12 hour shift on a 5 by 4 shift, Attend meetings safety/plant.

Iiam a man that speaks many languages and I can relate to anyone in thier own language. I have 10 years post apprentice experience and have build this experience from working at a few different types of companies

Good Company

Seasonal work good office culture very relaxed month end challenges Work completed by 12 and review the rest for the day Get in run my order bank, start scheduling loads from the port to various farms all over kwazulu natal

Am a well expirenced, skilled and informed artisan/technician.

Am a self motivated individual who adapts very good to demanding situations. I qualified as a fitter in 2001 and have worked in a steel, fertilizer and chemical industries.

Pros: I work as a maintenance technician currently and have a team of artisans together with their Forman reporting to me.

Very disorientated orgaization

Started working as a major apprentice and Qualified as a Fitter in June 1986. Worked as fitter until 1991 and then started a career as senior process artisan until 2001. I was then promoted to Shift Manager and in 2010 promoted as Area Manager.

Pros: None
Cons: Too many chiefs in charge

Good team player

My day starts with safety talk in the morning. Then discuss previous day's work and breakdowns, follow by focus for the day. After meeting with my team the next meeting is foremen meeting where discuss problems from different plants and forcus for the day .

Cons: Responsible for 4 plants

Working environment

Omnia is a good company. It has a wide range of instrumentation especially since it doesn't have field instrument personnel and DCS/PLC personnel, you gain experience in both aspect of the trade.

Pros: Great learning environment
Cons: Planning is poor which contribute on working long unplanned hours

It was injoyable working at Omnia the managment are umane

My work in the site /workplace was to monitor and audit contractor companies to ensure they work in accordance to there safety systems and risk assessments Do construction inductions, audit and approve files ensure the contractor Safety conform clients specification did a lot of couching the employees on site were cooperative and corrected action in short order I believe the like me as a safety due to the advice or rather attitude towards them I am a person to change the attitude of the workforce rather to force the change on them

Cons: too much contradictiong policiys between departments

I have learned to mix chemical

It was not a save company to work for it had no good conditions to work the safety was not that bad it paid me less money than the job I was doing but it brought food on the table.

Very challenging

I am a female of 38 years, computer literate, self motivated, hard working and deadline-driven. I work very in a team and I am fast learner. I am passionate, fun and easy going kind of person. I can reach targets and work under pressure. I am able to cope with high workload volumes. I have received an award for the Top Performer of the year to prove this.

Pros: Need more challenge
Cons: Getting to know the team
