All was just a great experience and a learning curve

Working in a retail and restaurant environment is very interesting especially when its busy you get to challenge your ability to adapt to working under pressure and if you are a team player, as one can never push alone. So I've learnt a perfect communication skill and to be a team builder ....and that one should always set values that can keep them going while still working for another company.... In every work place there it is bound for employees not to see things with the same eye. But one needs to have the tenacity spirit and make things work!

Pros: Greats new start for a change
Cons: Long working hours and less money.

Experienced, knowledgeable,

Staff respect me a lot. All staff disciplined. Service orientated Well trained. Enjoyed a busy day , ;small-talk" to cust and make sure they are happy.

I learn lot from Ocean basket how to handling customers.

when i got the job from Ocean Basket i was happy in other side i was scared because at the first day it seems like my co-workers they don't like me but i was wrong and we have good relationship with them they are friend also respect others co-workers culture, i can say busy day it Saturday and Sunday, i learnt when the customer is angry or complain first don't panic explain it to the customer or call your co-worker to help you if doesn't work then we call the manager to solve the issue,

I have learnt a lot about customer service skills

Its challenging to work with different kinds of people everyday with different kinds of backgrounds. Mostly important I ve learnt a lot from them how to handle difficult customers. As I m a good team player I like working with my colleagues because we help each other when its busy and we spend lots of our time at work than in our houses.

Pros: There is a room for promotion as I do cashups sometimes
Cons: We knock off late its challenging because of transport problems.

Excellent learning curve

I am privileged to being able to call Ocean basket Paddocks my home I love my work and keeping customers happy is my motto. The customer is paying our salary and is of utmost importance to keep them happy.

Go for a starter job should not stay long in company

Good relationships with co-workers. Not enough time off. Expectations are too high and little appreciation . No room for growth or salary increases. If you start as a waitress that’s going to be what you do till you retire

Great company but loads of work

Great place to work but challenge is long hours and the salary its less due to time um required to be working. Learnt and improve my skills from there, some people felt I was that type of strictly but there was nothing I could do because we were all about to work. But despite I tried to pus h and help everyone to smile. I enjoyed when its busy. Seen everyone smiling to their duties and the sound of working equipment.

Cons: Working hours were mostly 14 due to planning and cross checking of previous cash ups

EXPERIENCE FROM TRAINING AT HOLIDAY INN AND ROYAL HOTEL

I HAVE LEARNT TECHNIQUES OF LOWERING STOCK SHRINKING AND WASTE, ESCALATING THE STORES GPS AND GENERALLY BEING AN ACTIVE PART OF THE STORES GROWTH. I GET ON WELL WITH CO-WORKERS AS I BELIEVE TO BE HANDS ON IN ANY POSITION IS THE BEST WAY OF KNOWING AND UNDERSTANDING THE WAY THE COMPANY WORKS BEST, THE MOST CHALLENGING PART OF MY JOB RIGHT NOW IS THAT AS I AM MORE MATURE NOW I PREFER TO GET A VACANCY THAT I WILL HAVE A DAY POSITION IN A NEW STORE THAT I CAN JOIN AND GROW WITH. I WILL BE HAPPY TO TRY ANY CHALLENGE.

Cons: I AM USED TO WORKING LONG HOURS AND SHIFT WORK , THE LONG HOURS IS NOT THE PROBLEM, ITS THE NIGHT SHIFT THAT I AM TRYING TO EXCLUDE FROM MY LIFE

Brief insight to Ermalinda Geldenhuys

- typical day at work there are many challenges, there is always the feeling that the day is to short to complete the daily task. - Relationships are very good with co - workers. -I think I have brought in my own Systems for a long time, even though it works for our line of business I still think I am missing out on the Business systems and want to learn more. -I enjoy keeping busy with work and see the "fruits of my investments"(work results). - to be under stressful circumstances, and try not to make to many mistakes.

Pros: never n dull moment, always have to be on your toes
