On the edge of new technology

The company is divided into3 main fields, Sales, PM, and Field support staff, excluding the admit groups. Because I worked with contractors in the field, the day starts at 07:00, getting my site supervisors to check all aspects of their daily activities and sharing the project plan, weekly targets and daily targets. I enjoyed teaching them technical aspects and also lessons learned from previous projects, especially if you focus on tutoring someone and they implement and grow, and you can see the impact. Being in this company on the forefront of technology you are up to date with new innovations, and yes a lot of the tasks are repetitive, but working with the customer and the public makes this fantastic.

Great opportunities for new recruits

Work hours very flexible. A lot of travelling. Very diverse in terms of nationalities and different cultures. First to know about new technologies. Great opportunities to create career highlights.

Flexible working conditions

A typical work day consisted of webex calls and meetings with stakeholders. I enjoyed working in a team where we collaborated for the greater achievement of the organisation. Because Nokia's population is so diverse, I had the opportunity to work with people from different countries and cultures. I was privileged to work on assignment in Tanzania where I gained experience at a senior level. I also had the opportunity to travel to various countries while serving as Country HR which I thoroughly enjoyed. Most challenging aspects of the job - all country decisions were made at a regional level which sometimes impacted on HR effectiveness.

Pros: Technological advancement
Cons: No career advancement. No budget to support employees to further their studies.
