Project Management, System development

There is a new system that is going to be used at NRF to conduct all their business processes whereby, when ever you require some information everything will be automated, meaning everything will be kept on a database somewhere. This is innovation of their business processes. They want to move away from doing things manually, they want everything to be online, so right now I am part of that team that is compiling the System Requirement Specification for the new System they want to build. it has been a great learning experience, with the Project Management, Build project management professionalism and enhance organizational project management skills and capabilities. Keep the management team and project management community informed of project management best practices and new development.

Pros: To be zapped in by the development team of the new System they want to implement
Cons: there are no cons, everything is fine except for the salary, I think it should be at least 10000.00 per month not 6070.00

Professional Learning

I have developed the strong interpersonal and communication skills required to succeed as an intern, in addition to academic projects that require collaboration and strong writing and presentation skills, I have been selected by Centre of Academic Excellence (CAE) for a leadership role in Supplemental Instruction Leader (SIL) programme the past two years, and was an active member of our team. Throughout all of my experiences, I have used my dedication to efficient and creative problem solving and my ability to prioritize and manage competing demands to positive ends. I am eager to apply my knowledge and skills in the company. Practical experience is very important to me and I recognize the value of a training opportunity in a significant corporate setting. I have a strong interest in being part of the team that has excellent reputation. I feel my internship training has prepared me to be valuable as well. I would enjoy the opportunity to work with my colleagues in the forefront of bringing success.

Pros: Great Opportunity working environment
Cons: Work well under pressure

Reliable and results-driven

. I assist my mentor (Head: MBBCh 1&2 and E-learning) with descriptive stats, data management and data analysis in her projects about student progression. Sometimes the department ask me to perform some descriptive stats on demographics and some other small projects. I also assist at admin office with filling. I help first and second year students with statistics in their projects or research. I am not enjoying working here anymore. Everyone here is good towards me but i need a new challenge.

Pros: I do really think i will get a full time job here
Cons: No long working hours

They helped me learn many new skills

A typical day would include data analysis and image processing. I was situated in Stellenbosch University, working in the Central Analytical Facilities, there were 3 interns which I had a friendly and good relationship with. I learnt data analysis and how to manage my time better, I coped very well with deadlines and was able to do my own water filtration project. I enjoyed the people I worked with, it made it a very healthy working environment. Most challenging aspect was meeting deadlines

Pros: Acknowledgement for the work done
Cons: Salary was a bit low
