National Empowerment Fund Reviews

Excellent learning curve

I enjoy analysing and working on business transaction. What I enjoy the most is risk analysis, market analysis and financials. I enjoy working in an environment where one is able to work on transactions individually and within a team. My current relationship with my co-worker is very enjoyable and they actually make one to look forward to going to work. What I find most frustrating about mu job is analysing an application that can have merit but the applicant refuses to take the inputs.

Pros: good opportunity and growth.
Cons: new environment

Living the NEF values

Besides the extra working hours the organisation is a wonderful place to work in. my coworkers are actively caring and supportive. since joining the NEF i have learned patience as a person and as an employee as i had to wait for over 2 years to be permanent not that there was something wrong with me and my performance but i had to let due process take place. Challenging aspects to my job is that the work load is way above my pay grade and maybe there and there i might struggle to keep up but my colleagues are great so they always carry me when need be.

Pros: The values are great
Cons: Extra working Hours

Good work ethics and learning on investment products.

The company has flexible hours but the work is huge one needs to master time management and ensure that tasks are performed efficiently and on time. The normal operation hour is between 8-5 however one can come as early as anytime and as late and 10. The important factor is just to be able to deliver and meet your milestones. The relationship with customers is far much important as well as relationship with your co workers. You performance is based on how you perform and well as how you interact with your colleagues.

Pros: Bonus
Cons: More work than one can handle

Investment Officer

I am currently working as an Investment Analyst for a DFI. I am responsible for assessing applications and providing recommendations to management, conducting due diligence, compiling investment reports, presenting to crest committees.

Pros: It is really fulfilling to assist SMME's as most of them are not able to be assisted by the big banks. Every transation processed makes one feel that they are really making a difference in our economy and the transformation process
Cons: i have been in one company for 7 years and seeking change

I am good in working as a team or single

I come to you with a background in ensuring that the needs of customers are always met. I am person who possess a variety of competencies that set me apart from other candidates. As a seasoned professional I can handle objections or difficult customers as I have worked in as trainee at National Empowerment Fund, and I am still currently working at the NEF as Investment Analysis working with customers on a daily basis, making a decision under pressure.

Pros: promortion
Cons: working hours

Moderate Learning Curve

I have bad experience when it comes to grasping the assisgned tasks as the colleagues are on a roll and look irritated when I ask questions or more information on task I am given, in a sense that it is due to work load. So learning at the NEF is not easy. I ahve an okay relationship with the co-workers in the unit, and haven't pinpointed what I like about this opportunity.

Pros: Good remuneration
Cons: No clear career path and less opportunity for learning and development
