Excellent learning curve
In my section, I experienced a high work ethic and commitment from the manager and employees. Excellent work relationship with my Manager and team members. Great learning opportunities and exposure to develop skills and experience in different work areas. Freedom of initiatives and expression of oneself, flexible work hours, and helpful manager and co-workers. I enjoyed everything about consulting especially working on-sites from time to time. The most challenging aspect at times, being part of a small team, was that work can become an overload but due to our work ethic and responsible nature towards the outputs we always managed to do our best and deliver.
Pros: Growth opportunities
Cons: Not absorbing external personnel.

Excellent career start.. Definitely not the end..
Eskom... 1 word should say it all. However it's not as it seems when you worked for the company for 12 years. Speaking to people, learning different cultures, making new friends, understanding people's personalities was all part of a typical work day. Learning about how to deal with crisis after crisis, reap the benefits of solving plant issues and the appreciation shown by co-workers and managers was enlightening. I have always been able to be the "mediator" and resolve problems together rather than in isolation. Not to be modest but my team and subordinates were fond of me. Being able to make something "work", being the go to person made me feel worthy. Most challenging would be managing individuals with minimal emotion but rather getting to know each subordinate or team member for who they are. Timing is every thing.
Pros: Always good to be able to do something for your country.. Power generation.. Water is the start..
Cons: No increases, no bonus and extreme financial and emotional strain

Excellent Learning environment
Working in the energy sector, electricity to be precise is an interesting journey. One can never say they have a genuine typical day. Working in a the type of company that I work for is always filled with unexpected curve ball on daily basis. Good interpersonal relations with colleagues is one of the vital characteristics that one needs to have in their arsenal. when in the communication and stakeholder department, one needs to have very close and two way beneficial relations with other workers as their knowledge goes a long way in understanding the ins and outs of the business.
Pros: Great place to learn and practice effective Communication and Stakeholder management
Cons: work life balance is minimal -
