Excellent company

Ericsson is a telecoms company based in Johannesburg. It has great opportunities to travel abroad, especially into Africa. Working at Ericsson has provided great exposure onto telecoms industry and business as the whole.

Diverse environment

Overall my experience was mostly very positive. If you're considering working here: Know that you'll probably like it in most day-to-day ways,flexible environment and good working hours. An environment with diverse personalities.

Great Company to work for

I have worked with really great people, locally in south Africa, as well as through out Sub-Sahara Africa. The opportunity to learn, is great, if you have an inclination to learn. although media representation has colored Africa in a certain way, the colleagues I have worked with have been of the highest standard, including reporting to managers from with in Africa. I enjoyed the culture, though it could be challenging when requiring decisive destitution making. But all in all, I have had a great time at Ericsson, apart from some bad decisions regarding managers sent to Africa on Long term assignment.( But then these are only my personal views)

Pros: Great working environment for most of the time.
Cons: Managers of late have been breaking down the culture that made Ericsson a great company. Work-Life balance is only payed lipservice.

New Opportunities

I consider myself to be a conscientious, hardworking and goal oriented individual whom given the opportunity will prove to be an asset to any organisation I choose to join. I show initiative, use creativity to find solutions to problems and enjoy seeing projects through a positive conclusion. I am a polite and co-operative individual and apply myself to any given task. Providing legal solutions to all areas of the business, managaing and mitigating legal risk

I provide practical, sensible and focused legal solutions to the business. I am more a business partner than a legal advisor. I work closely with Human Resources to manage and mitigate legal, financial and reputation risk to the company. As I have been a HR Business Partner and a Legal Business Partner at the same time, I am able to povide support and add value to the bottom line based on my expereince. I find Union negotiation and labour disputes the most intersting yet challenging.

Excellent

Good day I am a Field Engineer/Supervisor with 8 years of working experience, a holder of Diploma in Telecommunications systems and CCNA international certification. Currently I am working for Ericsson SA on MTN FTTS Projects. I am responsible for the supervision of (subcontractors doing civil, fibre work and testing of fibre links) material management and EHS management etc. Also responsible for installing, configuring and troubleshooting of Huawei ATN, CX2 and CTR 8540 Microwave. Previously i was working for Huawei Technologies (as a Site Supervisor on Telkom FTTH Projects), Vumatel, Liquid Telecoms Pek12 and TelOne as indicated in my CV. A Typical Day at the Office

In my company I mostly work with Contractors who is responsible for Maintaining our clients sites/property. I work with +- 10 different contractors. I am responsible for the financial side from the Work Request till the invoice to the client. I am also responsible to ensure that our client sites are maintained and implementing systems to improve effective work flow. My challenge is getting the proof of work from the contractors and the signing off of documents from the Regional Managers, getting PO's from the client I am also responsible for the KPI Reports submitted to the client every week.
