Senior Programme / project manager
I am responsible for 2 projects worth aprox R150Mil, I have 6 people who directly report to me we are in a matric structure where I am also responsible for the work done by other people from the Matric structure. My role is to manage the execution of the project within budget at a defined schedule time. I am also involved in the physical work of high tech assemblies. My daily role is to plan all activities till completion, were I divide work into mini project and track the progress and report to clients and all stake holders, give inputs and advice. Make sure execution is still within budget and track all hours spent on the project.

A strong desire to expand my horizon and learn new skills. To truly put my knowledge to work.
My work involves personal interaction with employees, such as assisting with leave queries, timesheets, ect. Reporting is a key area of my responsibilities and these request are both montly, quaterly and during the auditing period on a daily basis . Reports vary from appointments, terminations , promotions , transfers and most importantly Employment Equity reporting and Skills training. I am quite involved with the onbaording and termination of employees on the SAP system. My work requires good to excellent MS Word, MS Excel and SAP Organizational Management skills. I am involved with the preparation of the Audit Documents for the Annual Salary Increase ( 900 employees ) and the process includes , letters, accurate system updates and finalization till the payroll process.

A challenge worth tackling
I am a qualified Electrical Engineering Technician, N Diploma S4, 2006(LC). My back ground is in Electronics, Analogue and RF with more than 10 years of Defence industry experience. My responsibility included test and fault-finding, running simulated link tests on Digital Radios, Programming PICs. Using Anechoic chamber to test Antennae, doing ECP’s. I have worked extensively from PCB to system level using various test instruments, therefore my drive and approach to problem solving in the production, development and field service environment might come in handy where needed. I work well with a team and I do not mind having my space as well. Currently I am working in a development environment and would like to share my expertise where there is a need. The something new was an eye opening learning curb.
Well working at denel my day is pretty much high and low but always fun. The new projects we get to work on or help with are really challenging but i thrive when i get challenged. I love the people i work with, were a small group in a cleanroom which makes it more interesting since we are in a close environment with different personalities. I love my job and the broad view its opend my eyes to whenbit comes to engineering.

Excellent career building opportunities
Being responsible for the management of the Warehouse & Dispatch team consisting of 16 employees with daily activities are definitely rewarding. Taking on various responsibilities beyond the standard required functions in all the previous positions held, opened abilities of gaining experience in many areas of business. Employee relationships are a very important part of daily operations and even with challenges the main drive for me is to make sure professionalism, fairness and good practice are top priority. I enjoy being involved with daily activities and being part of the operations in person eg. planning and physical execution of required. I enjoy helping individuals in my team to reach their goals. Very good facility and being near home is very beneficial. The company instability however is currently limiting all the above to be experienced to full extend.

Challenging times
Moving from the air force to the the private sector was a risk. But when l started at Denel Dynamics it was exciting. I was suddenly exposed to new technologies and new opprtunities. Now however the work at Denel has become more of a challenge than exciting. Although l work with a great bunch of people the whole SOE financial c crisis has made getting the job done so much more difficult

Great company to work with the best in the industry until the military market went down.
Working at Denel was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. The working culture is fairly relaxed as the teams work well together not putting pressure on each other. Planning is well done and everyone knows what is expected from them. The military market going down did not do the company any good financially causing a lot of frustration. We got to a point where government did not even know what Denel is doing causing them to lose focus on the importance of having the capability. Denel lost a lot of capability through the people they lost. It is ending up as a very sad story.
Pros: There is almost no promotion you just get your job altered to add more accountability
Cons: Working hours is fair and flex is an option but overtime is needed from time to time

It a excellent Engineering company
Very productive company to work for with good management and colleagues. I have to be independent and also to work as a team and the importance of delivering quality work on time. The most enjoyable part of the job is that I am allowed to be innovative which promotes growth and getting more exposure The work that is entrusted on me at my present place of work requires strong understanding of complex business concepts into concise and clear contract terms which is an absolute necessity for a first contact person. My knowledge of contract management principles and practices is quite profound and I possess working knowledge of contract terms and conditions. Moreover, my strong interpersonal and communication skills are the key to my success for contact with both internal and external customers.

Excellent learning curve
A great milestone,good working environment. Excellent learning curve . Great stuff and team members to work with. Timely completion of projects highly prioritised. Quality orientated and cultural diversity practiced.
