Its been a great expirience and I have aquired more skills

I have started as a apprentice with N4 electrical and with cummins learnt more about engines. Through my training I qualified as a millwright artisan. My day to day job includes engine assembly and dismantling, generator and engine maintainance which include servicing as well as fault finding. Through working at cummins I have learnt more about being a team player, good working principles as well as working harder.

Pros: It is great company which offers career upgrade through education and within the business
Cons: The breakdowns u only knock off when the job is done.

Enjoyed working because I had the chance to prove myself

Always willing and working where I worked was always a pleasure, we worked as a team and stood by one another. Stress was there but we could sort it out in no time that is team work. willing to work hard anways

Work Environment

Flexible working hours forms a major part of the working day. Most co-workers are professional and there is a good work-life balance. I have gained vast international experience and enjoy the interaction of people from different backgrounds and cultures. The most challenging aspects is the understanding of commercial activities as it differs across the african continent.

Working enviroment

my work involves interacting with internal and external stakeholders as well as educating them on our process so that the supplier are paid on time. we work as a team as and learn from each other. most of the team members handle different region so its great to learn how other countries handle our process.

This is a good company but the growth is abit slow

Cummins is a good company however abit slow in terms of growth for the technicians,in the past 5years I have learnt to put the customer at the number one priority .i have also Learnt to work as a team and being a lady among men it was abit challenging but u have managed. I have learnt diversity ,safety and quality importance.what I like the most about it is that you get the chance to work at the mines and other companies and it has got different departments like power generation where I have learnt more about generators and panels .the most challenging yet exciting is trouble shooting but I like it .

Awesome learning curve

I started as Machine Operator than I became a Quality Technician. It helps me to obtain my NQF Level 5 in Total Quality Management. Everyone is treated equally with respect. Managers are friendly. My job was challenging but it was easier through good communication with the colleagues. We embrace the change.
