Excellent learning curve

Learning experience At Auditor General I have learned a lot about auditing the financial statements as well as communication skills both writing and verbal. Articles at AGSA what I love the most is that at your third year you operate as a manager and you get to engage robustly with the stakeholders. You also have to manage the junior trainees and review their work and report on the status of the audit to management. The most challenging aspects of the job is to ensure that everyone pulls in their wait in order to meet the set deadlines. Therefore you need to always be in track and ensure that all the team members knows what to do and find solutions were there might be delays as to the meeting of a deadline.

Pros: Yuo get to be challanged and grow
Cons: Long working hours and deadlines might be met normatter what.

The life of an auditor

I am so honored to have worked for the Auditor General of South Africa. Started my articles I 2017 and got promoted after my articles , I gained so much knowledge on the audits I have done from the Department of Education, Local Municipalities to TVET colleges. I was also afford the opportunity to present/MC at executive business units and present our audit findings to the AG- Tsakane Maluleka. I am a great team player and this was evident in all my audits, I even learned conflict management and how to work with people of different views, religion and personalities. The most challenging aspect of my job was having to study my honors degree and work a full-time job. It taught me a lot of resilience and discipline. I wrote the first qualifying board exam of SAICA and passed it while working. I'm currently awaiting results of the second board exam. From presenting in audit steering committees to chairing our internal engagement teams to handling client queries.

Pros: Academic progress comes with promotion opportunities
Cons: Overtime. Weekly driving to clients, being away from home.
