Great opportunity!

CBO work hours are closely regulated - no work permitted after 17h00. It has taught me to be productive, with only 9 hours per day to get things done. The work culture at CBO stresses the importance of work/life balance. I really appreciate that fact myself! I learnt a lot about human relations as my team members are from diverse cultures, from Oman, Egypt, Pakistan, India, Czech Republic, Slovakia and South Africa. I have built close business relations with them all and made some good friends in the process. I also learnt a lot about non-Data Centre topics such as Pay runs, Company Banking, Company registrations, Tender proposals, Bank guarantees, Visa processing etc. I enjoy the ability to make my own decisions and determine the direction in which to steer the operations that I am in charge of Managing of supplier SLA’s when they have to import most of the spares they require, and the very laid-back work ethic in the country has been the most challenging thing about my job thus far.

Pros: Great Salary and currently still no tax paid back in South Africa.
Cons: Away from my family as I view it as a temporary endeavor.

Excellent opportunity to meet and experience different cultures

Working for the ALTRON Group is a great opportunity that I add to my experience. My role is to have Talks or conduct 2hr workshops on specific days on Digital Transformation and Office 365 Apps as the main focal point. I have excellent relationships with colleagues I enjoy the feeling of gratitude from delegates especially when I finish my sessions. I enjoy sharing information and knowledge formally and informally. As a foreigner, the challenging aspect of my job is, I get to travel around the country meeting different people or groups who would want to be addressed in their language as opposed to English and still be relevant in my workshops and getting people engaged and creating the wow factor.

Pros: Its a great opportunity to interact and share knowledge with people from different companies and backgrounds

Amzing exposure to ICT industry

Every day is unique, new challenges, I work with an amazing team very supportive. I've learnt alot over the years from being a Unix operator to Application Admin supporting (Astea, Oracle, SAP). What makes me satifies me is closing a call of a happy customer.

Formal environment

Working for Huawei has been a learning curve for me. We deal with customers on calls, social media and live chat and it is an environment filled with daily challenger. I am looking to grow and would like to venture into a more formal environment. Dealing with customers on social media was a new experience for me in this company and learning about the ever evolving brand needed us to constantly know the product in order to accurately assist our clients.

Pros: Having a job currently to pay my bills
Cons: Working shift, growth

Review

I am actively involved in the Implementation & review of IT Service Continuity & Disaster Recovery for Altron spanning across multiple business entities. As an input into the ongoing BCM Program my role was to ensure that all the IT & DR related items are taken care of. This includes a host of systems, controls and complexities. Documentation and ongoing rehearsals where my primary objectives, there are other key tasks that I performed such as gap analysis, impact analysis and ongoing implementation of IT infrastructures across various facilities and countries. I had the privilege to design the DR and test the entire stack successfully, having done several DR tests and achieving resilience that has never been done before.

Very Good

To whom it my concern I would introduce and describe myself as a well-rounded, positive and organized individual, in both my personal and professional environments. I am suitable for the position because I have the experience and qualification and I have a high tolerance level to work under pressure and welcome challenges. I am extremely adaptable to environment and situation; I strive to meet each goal entrusted to me. The company fires people every year. The only way to grow is if you know the HR or manage. they is no fear communication as well. when people get fired the next year the company hairs new people. No respect to each other as well.

Hardworking, honest and enthusiastic individual.

My workday consist of planning, co-ordination and strategies to implement efficiently. I have an excellent relationship with peers and sub-ordinates alike. I love working with people and motivate resources to get the best result. The most challenging aspect of my job is planning for the unknown and managing exceptions to ensure conformance to schedule, budget and scope.

Pros: Altron is a dynamic company that implement exciting projects.
Cons: I only have a short term contract renewed 6 monthly
