Experience in feedlot

Best place to learn the tricks of the trade, if you are interested in working with beef. Most of the people are friendly and easy to work with, I have learned many things like animal feeds, processing animals, pasture, irrigation, maitainance and dealing with the farming community in the area. I enjoy taking charge of my section when I have the chance. Most challenging part of the job is that there is no room for growth what you are employed as is what you will stay as unless you are here for 25 years of your life maybe even longer.

Pros: Great environment if you prefer the outdoors
Cons: Anything extra above and beyond normally goes un noticed

Excellent learning curve

It is a good experience working there. I have developed good skills however I unable to grow there as an individual and feel very pressurized at times having to constantly cover up for a person who constantly takes sick leave. For the past two years I didn't get an increase which is disappointing and last year we only received half a bonus.

Pros: Gained alot of experiemce
Cons: Long hours less pay
