Work experience

as I was working in this company,I used to train people with 5s and help them in implementing it.I was also involved in improving the layout of the one of the workshops in the company, mapping processes as per the Work Instructions and improve them, training people with goal alignment and helping them identify their measures.I used to enjoy working with employees in the company even though at first it used to be a nightmare .I was just fresh from tertiary and while we were doing time studies, the employees felt threatened thinking that were spys for the management until we further explained to them what continuous improvement was all about and then after that we ststtrf working very productively together. the experience had taught me that I need to always ensure that my aufientd understand everything that comes out of my month and to give them allowance to ask questions where they don't understand

Pros: the pros of working in this department is working with people and always running the projects that are completely different from each other which means you are to do a research before resuming with any project so u need to always be eager to learn
Cons: 8h30 hours per day from 07h30-04h00

Great Learning Environment

My typical work day involves desk tops exercises whereby I am tracking the projects that i am dealing with as well as the projects of CI Managers that are at the pots. I am also responsible for making sure that my projects are moving by continuously updating the projects documents. I work closely with Managers from different department and I developed a good relationship with them. What i have learn in my position is the importance of communication and project planning as well as the importance to clearly defining problem that has to be solved. What i really enjoy the most is that i get to work with different people as that provides me with skills. The most challenging aspect of my current role is that i don't get to do observations for my projects, the system is designed in such a way the one relays much on information that is provided by the process/project owners.

Pros: Great learning environment
Cons: Unavailability of projects owners

Pros: very minimal opportunities for promotion due old approach by most executive managers
Cons: the work transnet do particularly in my role and others above me is so demanding and therefore call for extra efforts, arriving early to plan for the new day with the team , sometimes meetings using technology with management a various locations in South Africa. this is to get them before their own busy schedule with various stakeholders commenced, some of the items discussed form part of your plan for the day ,at times you are required to provide feedback late in the day, that is after hours to the same management.
