Good learning curve

Working at my current company is a dream, early morning normally handle finances for our transport company then assist with preparing operational work, mid day is meeting the project managers to discuss progress on deliveries of the various component's this is then followed up with discussions with our clients on deliveries, before going home booking and signing hours for the workers. What I have learnt is how to manage people in a way which is not strict but in a way where there is a line of communication between me and my staff, which is vital in the supply chain field. Moat Challenging is when the client is not giving delivery dates or timing plans which can be problematic as then certain objectives can get rushed.

Pros: Good working hours, great for promotions, effective supply chain process
Cons: Overtime, comopany does assist with study fees

Opportunities to grow in your department

we work under a lot of stress as suppliers needs to be paid on time. we have +/- t8 sites and all the suppliers are paid a head office. we process +/- 800 invoices per creditor and we are four. I have a good relationship with my co workers and suppliers. when one is off we take over her responsibilities.

Pros: learn more responsibilities, flexi time hours
Cons: no opportunities for growth

I started as an apprentice in 2009 and qualified in 2011 as a welder.But through my journey as an apprentice I learned a lot of things like boilermaking and I also learned that if your work as a team is good production ,I have learned that as an artisan before you start to work you must inspect your area to avoid tripping hazards and each morning we read toolbox talk so that we can discuss about the experiences we get during working hours

Pros: Sometimes I used to work as an acting chargehand
Cons: We used to work long hours so that we can reach the job target .

Better prospect

An excellent learning curve, big challenges and great exposure to new ideas. Technical skills and managing people, leadership skills mentoring programs. Good communication skills and teaching young ones how to be better planners sharing my knowledge and experience to others.

I learn are lot everyday

Everyday you learn and have the courage to learn more you meet people who are able to halp and learn more respecting each other and learn different kinds of people and to have good communication always . have risk assessment before you work and protocols to follow and instructions i have learnt a lot when it comes to shafts and how is the mill operate . The most thing I enjoy to do at work is to work on the hydronic pipes . The most challenging aspects is when they is dust and hot surfaces

Pros: it will be nice if I can work with big companies like yours just to gain more experience in different fields

Working on Site in an office enviroment

I have worked in administration and document control. I have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. I can work alone or be part of a team.

Pros: There is always changes given to employees to improve them selves
Cons: The hours are long but it's all part of being in construction and you get use to it

Project Planner

I work in a competitive , challenging environment which requires you to be at work everyday for most part of the year. You need to be able to work within a team as plans are made within a team setting. I work as an advisor for my team, guiding them and cautioning them when necessary. I work closely with the Project manager and the Quantity surveyor in order to make orders, get resources, tools and equipment for maintenance jobs.

Pros: Exposure to different aspects of the company
Cons: Long working hours, limited opportunity to grow

Great Experience in career

I really enjoyed working at steinmuller, most of the times was looking forward to go at work, enjoyed working for a safety department, i first started working as a boilermaker assistant worked for two months after they recruit me on a safety department bcoz i gave the senior safety officer my fire fighter certificate then she called me and asked if i would like to join her department and i agree was really happy for the opportunity i was given the i started working with her just the two of us on the department the company was busy with a job of fixing hand rails in and outside the plant then after 3 weeks she send me at eskom to do a course of Hot work Monitor the course took two weeks and I passed and eskom management call my senior ask her that i must come for a interview before they can give me my certificate and i went and i did well, i was given my Hot work Certificate,

Pros: I had a great opportunity to learn about Safety and healthy environment
Cons: Same times i had to work long hours to make sure that everyone is safe and the areas are safe and clean

I am currently the leading safety officer at Hendrina power station! I need a new opportunity to be able to learn more! We work on the full nosa osch act system

Pros: at least i have a job
Cons: far away to drive to work daily no living out allowance
