Lerning curve

I really enjoyed what I do, my job as a safety officer. I work on a planned schedule in terms of safety inspections underground and general audits. I am a peoples person, I encourage team work in all aspects. Through my carrier I have learnt that we as people our thinking is not the same so each group need a different approach when it comes into accepting safety hazards / transgressions, people will normal take it as punishment and not as a learning curve. I enjoy being a safety officer, but what I mostly enjoy I when there are no accident The challenge aspect in safety is to actual drive safety in terms of action plans and introducing new strategies

Pros: Great platform to learn and interact with people in achieving zero harm
Cons: Risk tolerence level from employees including management

Growth and learning curve

Work 5am to 3pm, I built a very strong team that's very experienced when I started I was only Electrical foreman n later I was given an opportunity to supervise all the disciplines I.e had Electrical, fitters, Boilermakers and riggers reporting to me.

Pros: No opportunity for growth
Cons: Difficult working conditions

Great start to a career

I like new challenges, innovations and new environments to test my skills and knowledge. I am a outgoing person that always helps where i am needed and will offer to help where i am not. I am a easy person to get along with and get along with all my colleagues.

Pros: Well established company
Cons: little chance of promotion

I am a diesel fitter, i have qualified in olifantsfotein in the year 2010

i have started my appprenticeship in a company called mtu, i was assembling various detroit, mtu, mercedes benz engines w iam cuirrently working for sasol maintaining 18 w40 wartsilla engines

Development and personal perfomance Upraisal

I am working on a scheduled time a day with eight hours a day a know how to manage my time as I have good working relationship with my co-workers and I have learnt to understand the characters of other people I enjoy helping and giving a way forward in matters that are arising , the most challenging aspects at work when they arose I have a way of dealing and analysing such matters and I can look for solution and give clear understanding , all I enjoy is to see peace and good relationship between co-workers and teaching is one the tools I use when it comes to problem solving, I deal with the matter and teach a person the ways to come out of issues, I have learnt to help people to achieve their goal

Pros: oppertunities are available for growth in an individual
Cons: long hours are scheduled accordingly

GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES

A day start in the very early hours from 05:30 am Workers always needs assistance with different issues ranging access controls ,late coming ,medical bookings ,leave scheduling and administration Meetings with the Mine Management

Break down repair and construction work and maintenance on all electrical equipment

Breakdown repairs on all electrical engineering equipment meant including construction and maintenance work ,I also worked open sandvik machine at hossy shaft and both xlp fleet and LP fleet including LHDs 77,115,208 as well as LP210L excess rigs

Great challenges which made one grow

Working in the training department on the mining industry is sometimes a challenge because some of the workers are not literate and you need to accommodate them in your classes. I have learnt to be patient with everyone because people are of different characters and they also come from different backgrounds.

Pros: Great chances of promotion
Cons: Constatly on standby
