Its a good company with a great salary...

I am young energetic electrician,I learn very quick.i am a great problem solver,always willing to learn new things.I attend breakdowns as quick as I can as I'm flexible and I make sure I solve them as quick as possible,as safely as possible.I value safety too much,I like to work in a clean area,that is why after every job I do housekeeping so when I come work there again the area is clean

Cons: You only work long ours if you failed to do your job in time,sometime the engineers Dont plan their job correctly which will leave you working very long ours.again if their machinery that can't be left standing on breakdown you have to attend them

Hard worked team worker and patient person

worked in planned maintenance from 2008 as a clerk and in 2011 jan was promoted to PLANNED MAINTENANCE ADM. I was transfered from one shaft to another by the company and never had a problem with moving and was adjusting easily. I relate well with my subordinate and supervisors. i enjoy challenging task

Lots of challenges to professionalism

Typical day involves morning meeting collecting breakdown report attending to breakdowns, scheduled equipment maintenance. Assistants. And aides and stope service people do their bit according to their areas of responsibility. Friendships form naturally as people spend hours together, more with workmates than family. I have learnt to be honest and highlight dangers as they show signs. I enjoy fault finding if i am provided with adequate resources and the look of silent appreciation from superiors when i deliver. Lack of spares is a great disabling challenge,

Pros: It is a permanent job, one can plan ones future, in the hope of one day leading one"s workmates,
Cons: The absence of spares, diagrams and excessive cost cutting is a recipe for poor performance

Production

Main focus on production and Safety is company strategy. There is lack of development for knowledgeable employees and the difficulty of being mentored. Production decline due to declining reserves and expenditure high as a results of non productive overtime and cost excallation due to over spend on budget.

Excellency

My role is to do day to day inspections of machinery before they commence underground,I do that in order to minimise the number of breakdowns.I have a very good relationship with coworkers and I have learned to multy while keeping calm under pressure.I enjoy seeing happy employees and I always strive to archive. The most challenging part is being in a workplace with shortage of spares

I need growth.

I do work six days a week as the employee relation officer whom work closely with two organised labor(unions) and servicing 3000 employees . i do work closely with absentee department and i do believe that i do have a healthy relationship with organised labor, management, other department and employees. what i have learned over the years in the working environment is that one need to be team player,make sure once opinion is heard and take ones opinion into consideration and never compromise my values and integrity.i do enjoy employee relation as one has to deal with different issues on daily basis.The most challenging aspect is illiteracy of our employees and shop stewards.

Excellent business strategy

On a daily basis I give instructions to my supervisor on the mine's daily requirement in terms of production. I also give safety statistics update of the mining industry and the company as injuries are a risk in the continual operation of the mine. I approve supervisor budgets according to a needs analysis i devised during my meeting with my supervisors. Ultimately I want my section to be profitable in driving production volumes and quality of ore, the safety of all employees and minimizing wasteful expenditures.

Pros: Ideal place to develop one's skills
Cons: Long working hours including working saturdays
