Working for Sasol Energy has been a blessing to me. this has became my second home where I met good people who from whom I learn good work ethics and industrial values ( customer focus; winning with people; safety; integrity; team work). My day to day activities which include safe making of equipment planning and filling; safely execute shutdown work; blending of fuel has empowered me with self confidents. the challenges of possibilities in contamination; injuries and other profit loss to the company has keep me focus and be observant of everything I do in order to prevent that.
Pros: lot of responsibilities wich results on greater expossure and experience

I am a hard working person who takes pride in doing his work
I am currently employed as a Specialist SHE at Sasol Energy. My primary roles are to facilitate where required, and identify Safety, Health and Environmental hazards, risks, key undesirable events and the associated preventive and corrective controls. Apply and optimize SHE processes, practices and systems for operational conditions, whilst applying Sasol Group guidelines and parameters. Develop and manage the implantation and effectiveness of area-specific Safety Improvement initiatives and strategies. I have extensive working experience within Petrochemical industry, encompassing fields such as Production and SHERQ. During this time, I have worked with other highly experienced, competent, dedicated and well trained professionals, from wide-ranging fields, that have enhanced my development, and that in turn has enhanced my professional advancement and skill.

A career of growth and opportunities.
In Retail, it is the variety and the new challenges daily, that makes my job exciting and makes me want to wake up to every morning. A typical day is made up of dealing with my Franchisees and Internal stakeholders, to ensure that Retail Operations are running smoothly and everyone is doing what they need to do timeously to minimize disruptions. The current economic challenges keeps me on my toes, trying to find new ways of driving sales and advising Franchisees of opportunities that could assist them. It's true there is never a dull moment, as the team feeds off each others energy, bringing in fun to the workplace. Occasionally I do receive escalations from unhappy customers and I derive pleasure from having to resolve their issues whilst at the same time preserving the Co. name and ensuring that the customer remains loyal to the brand. One of the biggest realization's is knowing that no problem is too big and with the right attitude and outlook, anything can be resolved.
Pros: Thus far I have had good growth in my career, i had the opportunity to get involved in and add value to different streams in the business. The Flexible working arrangement is a big bonus as one tries to navigate the heavy Jhb traffic. Daily interactions involve working with Internal Stakeolders, my direct reports, Franchisees and customers.
Cons: We are located in the heart of Sandton and the traffic is one of the biggest negatives, which is overcome by the flexible working hours. Being in Retail requires one to be available 24/7 to Franchisees. Daily meetings is common place and often does result in me working longer hours to complete my day job. However it is the passion for my job that drives me, which makes it a bearable experience

Drive for innovation to think out of the box in order to have continuous improvement
WitTtthe 15+ year experience I have accumulated a wealth of knowledge , sound judgement and can be trusted in the decisions taken in the best interest of the company. I have a positive attitude and strong work ethos to ensure that team and individual deadlines are met. Take proactive approach to resolve issues and queries prior to them being raised. Ensure continued focus of the team on priorities and pay attention to detail in order to understand the information at hand. Ensure team collaboration and knowledge transfer of individual tasks in to promote team efficiency and strength. Excellent networking skills and stakeholder management to leverage off the project team skills and knowledge for timeous project completion. Sound technical proficiency over Microsoft suite , reporting systems and consolidaton of information. Excellent graphical skills and financial analysis

Excellent Blue Chip Company
Currently working from home with company provided tools/laptop/3G and mobile phone and secure access to company network.Start at 8am and close out at about 5/6pm. Manage team members remotely as we cannot access the Sandton HQ office due to Covid protocols. Interact daily and use tolls such as MS Teams and Skype to collaborate. Delivery based on outputs and has been working well well including interactions. Enjoy challenges and projects and adopt the agile methodology. Fast paced as have plant elements and cross functional teams to support. Enjoy the freedom to make decisions and growing the company business

Cons: Missing the face to face real life contact with my colleagues, reports and stakeholders.

Good Company
Working fior Sasol is very nice because they treat disabled employees like all other employees, they give everyone the chance to learn and grow within the company. Training sessions are open to ensure that everyone perfom their tasks as per company standard and expectations. Line managers are very friendly and open should require any assistance. They encourage asking questions if you dont know or understand something so that they will help. Team work and communicating with other employees are their priority.
Pros: This is the company everone can enjoy working in it as it is the biggest company in the world.
