SALGA Is a good working environment with good leadership and im learning a lot everyday

im so grateful to be working in such an environment,its friendly,motivating with many projects that im involved too and im learning a lot. i have a good relationship with my colleagues and exucutives in the office, they appreciate my work everyday. The training sessions were interesting and informative Participants were engaging, there was a constant interaction between the facilitators and councilors Facilitators came in well prepared which made the training to be successful as they know what they are talking about. I learned to be independent, work hard, under pressure, to be patient and forgiving. I learnt to communicate freely with different people of different race. To have control over a project(ensuring that the registration desk is set and avoid a queue, venue is clean and set up, caterers are on time, facilitators are ready and prepared).

Excellent

it is a great company thus far, because they adhere to batho people principles and they are forever striving for excellence.Confidentiality and transparency are the fundamental tools that the company practices and the employees as well. I learned to work and cope working within an open space and interact with different people. i have learned not to take offence when i am being criticized constructively.

Creating a link between sustainable service delivery at a municipal level

The role played in relations to the mandate is to advise, advocacy ( assist and support) municipalities in the Free State with amongst others capacity building interventions. It is an a exceptional good working environment. Depending on municipal levies to advance and or to achieve Key Performance Areas is what is most frustrating. Most of my work depends on interacting individually with both the Political and Administration wings in municipalities however working with Internal Directorate (Team - work) happens partially once or twice a quarter. Learning and or acquiring knew set of skills of knowledge on programmes from the interaction with different directorate is valued as this broaden your insight and understanding. Enjoyment is mostly experienced during annual events on preparations for Conference or Provincial Members Assembly. Most challenging is using your own resources (like motor vehicle) to accomplish or achieve KPAs

Learning a lot about Local Government

Ensure the smooth running of the directorate administratively. I have good relationship with the core workers which make it easy to work well in a team and individually. I have learnt the role that our directorate as Governance and IGR play in assisting municipality as a directorate we ensure that the municipalities are represented in Parliament, they are represented in terms of commenting on the Bills that are affect them, ensure that the municipalities comply with the Acts that affect them, support municipalities to learn from each other and support municipalities to achieve clean audits. What i enjoy about local government is that i deal with things that affects me. The most challenging aspect of my job is working in a political environment.

Excellent work experience

On a typical work day I kick off by starting the office printers. after the starting off the printers i assist whoever is in need of desktop support including network configuration for network connection. Myself and all my colleagues get along very well. Never have we encountered any unethical work experiences.

Pros: Great networking platform.
Cons: The company does not do a lot of permanent employment.

I've in the Government industry for long and want to move to private sector for challenges

I have two payroll administrators working under me I oversee their work for accuracy Interface payroll to GL Reconcile payroll accounts Oversee Payroll planning and changes Monthly SARS submissions and all legislative submissions IRP5 submission Audit handling
