A typical work day Interacting with management and staff/contractors on a daily basis. Ensuring safety targets are met at the end of shift. Availability and utilisation targets are met. Hard worker can and whant to work long houers
I love working on petra diamonds every day is a challenge and the people there . at this stage I'm doing all the spares, planning and orgenising the parts for all the underground trackless machines. all so reliving as a alternative forman .
Pros: very good envirment and lots of chalenges
Cons: no bonus , no medical , no housing and i must comute 120km perday to work and back.. and thers no personal career grouthe in petra diamonds

I am a 40 years old South African male who has 19 years security related experience both in Industrial security and Mining security. I am qualified in the field of Operational Security and Security Intelligence. I am currently holding a Degree in Security Risk Management from the University of South Africa and currently studying towards my Masters in Security Risk Management. I am currently working for Petra Diamonds SA as a Regional Intelligence Coordinator for the Northern Region responsible for 4 Mining Operations and Two offices. Beside what is indicated in my resume I am a dedicated individual who is self-driven. I am able to work under pressure with calm and able to take necessary decisions having considered all possible outcomes and repercussion.

Good exposure towards mining industry
good place to apply your skills. working with good team of different characters. excellent place to experience on building, construction and installation. Hard times when coming on to targets and schedules.

Excellent learning experience
Started as sorting plant and mobile machine operator. Left job and started afresh and got a learnership and studied and operated a metalurgical plant. Qualified as foreman and loves problem solving as it gives me the opportunity to prove myself. I have astouned myself and management and i train my staff and everyone that needs my help. It is adrenalin working on a problem and achieving success.

Prospects of getting a more senior role with wide range of responsibility and accountability. work family balance, I have had opportunity to conclude commodity contracts, negotiate some contracts Diesel for the mine, scaffolding. High pressured environment with room to work A good working relationship Delivering stakeholders requirements Delivering requirements within specific of the governance.

Excellent experience and worth to be paid
I worked 9 hours a day Conduct the inspection as scheduled I have build trust between myself, supervisors, managers, employees and my fellow coworkers I have learnt legal compliance, arrange and conduct meetings, chair the C4 meetings, departmental meetings,conduct audit, prepare DMR presentation, 11.5 DMR investigation, review risk assessment and procedures, implement safety management system. Conduct the investigation and implement new system. When you have to be complacency towards the non compliance.

Excellent learning curve of different disciplines
My day would start by assembling and inspection of equipment, calibration, welding of fabrication and inspection of weldments. The relationship with co-workers was of utmost importance when coming to brothers keeper, that kept the basic rule of safety that our safety is everyone's responsibility. I enjoyed the most understanding of each other's responsibility towards what is expected of them, they always do more than what's expected of them. The most challenging part of my job was the unexpected delays such as breakdowns and overtime.

Panctuality
a typical work day was challenging and enjoyable, the reason being, i had good relationship with Co-workers. i have learnt to work under harsh conditions . further-more, the work was enjoyable and interesting especially on the production line, it was very helpful because i learned how to work fast and making quick decisions. the most challenging aspects of the job, was immediate break-downs which often causes delay. the company has taught me a value of discipline and dignity
