Good Learning Curve
Technical support is where we deal with Hi-Rate customers and it can be very stressful. i have built a very good relationship with my co workers with good communication From the time i started working at LexisNexis, i have learnt a lot from colleagues customers and technical development team. i enjoy working with a good team where there is good communication. work itself is challenging but the part of where telephonic support and also making sure that the technical aspect of the query is done accurately and 100%

LN locally is an exceptional company. The local operation has got amazing people.
Amazing team and company. Financially strong and stable. The company has got operations accros the country that sometimes makes it difficult to foster a cultur. The company is very innovative and it invests a lot into new technology. Due to the reporting structure to France too much time is being spend on reporting and not enough on strategy and building and finding new opportunities.
Pros: It is a great local team.
Cons: We report to Paris. The performane expectations from them are unrealistic and although the company does exceptionally well it always feels like we are failing. It impacts on all staff bonuses.

Excellent learning curve
I was hired as an intern, the internship was about 3 weeks (during winter vacation). Working at LexisNexis was a oppprtunity. I was exposed to the real world in the IT industry. We worked as teams, each team had a leader - I was in the testing team. The day would start from 08:00 - 16:30. Every morning we would have meeting with other testing teams; the one in Cape Town, it was required that each person to report what they did the previous day, the challenges one dealt with and also what they will be doing that day. I was fortunate enough to work with hard working team, that worked well together. We were from different institutions but we got along just fine, which made it each for one to ask for help if it was due. The most challenging aspect about the job was to trying to meet the team leader half way and learning as we working because during the time we were there the company was launching; moving from desktop to online.

Always a postive attitude, team player ,
A normal working day is always busy, telephonic technical support. always work well with others. from the time i came in the company i have learnt a lot internally and externally. i have gained a lot of knowledge technically. I enjoy working with the team we have as we always work as a family.

Excellent benefits but high pressure environment
The business is primarily sales focussed which means that the business would compromise it's employees wellness to get a transaction through, what i mean in this regard is that there is not one day where a usual business day doesn't get interrupted due to a 'Big clients' request if we get one of these then our day pretty much stops, which compromises our work hours and deliveries on other tasks. The term 'sales doesn't sleep' is very true in this regard because it has become an unreasonably high pressured environment due to accounts being lost. Business has been unrealistic in its targets and this has placed a lot of strain in our sales team who have a high turnover rate because of the pressure.
Pros: compensation is good and employee benefits are the best

Good interpersonal skills
