Labournet Reviews

Professional Outsource Experience

Typical day at the office is very tense, high pressure. There are many clients that need to be serviced accurately. I had a good relationship with co workers and even made some outside friendships I have learnt to manage time. Prioritize. Also learnt to not take things too personally. I actually liked the challenge of ensuring employees receive their at on time. Especially because previous job was so repetitive. Most challenging is to pay attention to detail. Ensure that you process the correct values and making sure everything adds up

Pros: I learnt a great deal in one year. You are hands on for your clients so you almost like the payroll manager for each of your clients companies. You learn to find latest knowledge if payroll and work with the expectations of the clients. I actually really liked the job the need to make decisions under pressure made me feel, tired yes, but very alive at the same time
Cons: Yes, we work extremely long working hours. I once left at 1 am from the office to my house. But it makes sense because its your baby, sp you will put in the hours to ensure all systems are in place. Physically, it took a toll.

Great exposure

Focusing on improving the knowledge of clients by assisting/guiding in Labour related matters. Chairing disciplinary hearings, appeal hearings, grievance hearings and wage negotiations. Also consultations to ensure that clients are well equipped, CCMA - Conciliation and Arbitration assistance. Great team that learns from each other on a daily basis, I have entrenched myself with the knowledge to ensure that clients are trustworthy towards me. Working with a diversity of people on a daily basis, long distance travelling remain a challenge.

Pros: Great institution for learning
Cons: Unforseen long hours of working

Great company for skills development within Human resources as well as consultancy.

LabourNet is a great company to work for as you are exposed to the whole spectrum of Human Resources such as: Payroll, Industrial Relations, Recruitment, Transformation and Skills, Learning and Development, Health & Safety etc. It also gives you the plat form of enhancing your skills through short courses within your area of expertise. The downfall or maybe could be an upside is that you become a subject matter specialist and as a result could be career limiting. I have learnt to work with multiple personalities and various managerial structures as well as being involved in the strategic position of the organisation relating to Learning & Development.

Pros: Very flexible
Cons: Work Pressure and long hours

I would like to assist a single business entity to further their Industrial Relations internally

My daily responsibilities include attending to various clients’ IR related matters. These responsibilities include to ensure that clients are compliant with the current Labour Relations Act and the Basic Condition of Employment act, drafting of employment contacts, drafting and implementation of company policies, drafting of disciplinary charges, the chairing of disciplinary hearings, appeal hearings, grievance proceedings and attended to union consultations regarding various aspects. I have vast experience in incapacity related affairs and short time implementation. I have further attended to the drafting of multiple Section 189 notices and attended to the retrenchment proceedings as well. I have further assisted clients with their CCMA and Bargaining Council matters with providing advice and preparation for the said matters.

Pros: Great opportunity
Cons: Less family time

Excellent work environment. Very professional. Has taught me a lot.

My typical work day includes, seeing clients, consulting, assisting with DOL audits, specializing in Employment Equity and Skills Development. I have a great, strictly professional relationship with my colleagues. I work well in a team and individually. My current job entails both team work and working individually.

Pros: Great culture
Cons: Long hours over and above normal working hours with no over time pay.

Gained a lot of knowledge and exposure to the corporate world

Gained a lot from working with payroll systems and the type of development that goes into the product. A typical day would start with morning meetings the into development for the day, before lunch we have a standup and catch up on progress made. Then the rest of the day is spent completing sections. What I enjoyed most was the work environment and freedom they offered, not that micro management rubbish. The most challenging part was dealing with customer system related configuration and security issues, and the constant change in system user demands. It grew me in my ability to quickly adapt and deliver.

Pros: A good place to start in terms of exposure and secure development.
Cons: (Racism) Lack of promotion and pay if you not white. Lack of inovation in the technologies used.

Excellent learning ground

I have learnt a lot while at Labournet. I enjoy the culture of the company. I personally feel like there is lots of racial tension. The salary is not livable.

Pros: Great culture
Cons: Long hours over and above normal working hours with no over time pay, employment equity imbalance.
