About me and my work

managing project is my daily work, conducting meeting, updating the project schedule, reporting the status of project to my seniors. i work very well with my team and we always achieve positive results by completing the project in time, in budget and not forgetting quality. i have learnt to run meetings, doing presentation and managing stakeholders i enjoy presenting the status of my projects, it gives me confidence in knowing whats happening in my projects. the challenging part is always to learn new ways of doing things due to technology, having to use diffrent template in presenating.

Pros: Yes i see myself having a great opportunity of growth and promotion within and outside the company
Cons: Long working hours should be always every project manager food

Great Learning

My typical day includes checking on clients who hasmaintenance contract to ensure we meeting our SLA. Ensure technicians and/or subcontractors are onsite. Motovating and mentiring them to look past just being a technician but to also see where we can grow the business at the same time add value to the customer. Sending service reports. Meeting with other clients Doing proposals and costings Helping the Business consultants add SLA onto their proposals. Accompany them to meetings to ensure we sellibg service as well Doing reports fir the business to show profit from service. Challenges are getting costings done through other divisions or offices in the business on time but challenging is good.

Pros: Fantastic position which gave me more exposure into service

Application Specialist

I currently work for Honeywell Automation as Application technician at Sasol Site Secunda, started working at SABC doing internship due to my hard work I was appointed permanently, I was doing first line support and second line support for 6 months then moved to development team, where we were integrating SABC systems using IBM integration tool called Websphere Integration Developer, I got opportunity at Honeywell for my career growth from 2011 I am doing application support as Sasol and developing new tags used by the systems we supporting. I have 11 years working experience in IT industry. I have B-Tech in IT obtained 2010, National Diploma obtained 2009 at Vaal University of Technology, and have Database Implementation Certificate obtained 2014 a UNISA, I am currently doing my Bachelor of Science Honours in Computing with UNISA. Great Matrix Operations Business

Typical work day: Update on the financials, current status on the project, Address challenges internally, review VOC-voice of the customer, customer engagements. Relationships with Co workers: excellent, support a lot of team programs. Recognize hard work and reward individuals. What I have learned: people are dynamic, they will always supprise you. What I enjoy the most: challenging the status quo. Most challenging aspect of the job: dealing with an unhappy customer in ensuring to gain thier trust and addressing the challenge adequately.

I have been retrenched at Honeywell as part of corporate downsizing

Honeywell was a great opportunity to develop an industry vertical, it is sad it had to end so soon. I was gaining traction in the mining special risks applications as well as commercial buildings. There was lots of scope in Oil and Gas as well as power utilities.

Pros: Strong Corporate
Cons: Buricratic and slow

Learning curve

I am a good team player and get along with everyone and work well with many people even if they are not in my team, eg. management, engineers from other teams. i help solve problems and when i am at work i love doing what i do but i would love to get out of the Sasol environment and move to JHB.

Excellent learning curve

My days are very busy and challenging. I associate very with all the members of the company irrespective of positions. I have learnt about the products in this industry, how they are manufactured and used. The thing I enjoy most is the challenge to make sales targets every month. The most challenging aspect would be achieving targets without enough stock being produced.

Gained 10yrs of experience in the Oil and Gas sector at Sasol

Our work day starts with Safety and alignment meeting on a day to day basis to prepare and plan for the rest of the day and week.We work as a team and help each other if situations arise to complete the job.Learnt alot from the experiences I received working in this environment.Working as part of a team has made our job fun especially when we have tough challenges coming our way.Situations like deadlines and bringing up the system online after plant trips,power dips etc keeps us busy and with teamwork ,we have always been able to be on top of our game.

Excellent working environment

Honeywell well is a great company to work for. I even got opportunity to go abroad for further training of the system. The Culture of the company is great as well
