Experience at Groendal Farms

I am currently working at Groendal Farms, where it is my responsibility to manage certain tasks in the fruit packhouse and manage staff. I was also sent on skill training courses which broaden my knowledge and management skills. My position at Groendal Farms related to the assistant management of the packhouse. My duties included: ? Writing and implementing procedures and policies of a fruit packchouse for HACPP/BRC, SIZA Audit, Global GAP. ? Taking stock and writing of daily reports. ? Labeling of boxes and pallets for export. ? Communicating with the fruit export companies relating to latest stock. ? Quality control and management. ? Maintance work on the grader in the packhouse. ? Understanding and implementing of the pack instruction. ? Estimating the packaging material and costs. ? Production management.

Pros: Great opportunity to develop skills and gain experience
Cons: Long working hours

Great learning experience

The time spent as a Workshop manager at Groendal Farms, gave me a great experience in the Engineering field, and this is one of the reasons why I consider myself an asset for any company. I was in charge of supervising the workshop and helping with all repairs on machinery. All of my duties were finished on time, with very low costs, and I developed great relations with my colleagues

Pros: great oppertunity for learning
Cons: no increase in salary
