Excellent learning experience

My typical day at Geekulcha involves developing mobile apps, front-end websites, researching on emerging tools and engaging will high scholars to teach them basic IT skills. I have a wonderful relationship with my co-workers. I have learned so much about investing the skills that I have towards a positive direction. Work is not all about doing the tasks you are given but going an extra mile and helping other people perform to their best abilities. I enjoy developing new applications, Android, and websites and I feel there is still a big room for me to learn newer skills if not polishing them.

Great learning platform

I have great interpersonal skills and work well by myself as well as in a team. Integrity, honesty, and respect are my most valued characteristics. I am confident and have the ability to act decisively without hesitation. I am always prepared to work under pressure to meet deadlines or expectations of my position. I have punctual good communication skills, computer literate, prioritizing skills, as well as creativity, analytical, fast learner, focused, good problem solving skills and always willing to help others. In addition, my easy-going and broadminded personality allows me to relate well to people and co-ordinate activities, resource, people and time.

Great opportunity for learning

there's absolutely no opportunities for growth in the company because it mainly deals with community outreach programs which are non profitable.there's absolutely no training provided by the senior management.you just have to learn on your own.

Good starting point

I learned how to be a project manager and assist in leading the time by conducting stand-up meetings and sitting in during their presentation to help improve their presentation skills. A typical day for starts with checking emails so I can get my tasks for the week,day or month. I conduct a lot of research and this is to educate me and also assist in completing tasks. We attend project briefings and from there I would be expected to create documentation for the project and monitor it's progress.

Cons: What we learn is not always specialised

Geekulcha is a SME that started around 2013 and it is a platform that is aimed in helping undergraduate enter the corporate world, it is a great place for students to be introduced to the working environment.

Pros: Motivated to create your own profile to enter the corporate world
Cons: Working on weekends sometimes and not getting paid
