Passive work environment

Very passive and reactive working environment. Was very challenging for me to adapt coming from a corporate environment. There is no career development or growth. No change management and resistance to new ideas and change.

Always learning more

Fast paced political environment, characterized by daily long meetings and lots of reading. I have gained the trust of many of my principals over the time and serve as a speech writer and researcher fo both committee and House sittings. I am passionate about driving change and one way I do it and to help members perform oversight government departments. I also have experience as a journalist and am a strong writer, including speech writing.

Ethics and Investigation Officer in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature

The Gauteng Provincial Legislature in short does oversight on Gauteng Provincial Government. It is where the Preimer and the MEC's account and my office deals with the register of interests for Members, the code of conduct as well investigation of complaints against the Members of the Legislature in relation to ethics and the Code of Conduct. It is an intersting invironment and the office deals directly with politicians and proactively tries to help members avoid unethical behaviours.

Cons: Working in a political environment can be very challanging however it is challanges that help build an individual

Excellent career prospect, to grow in the Supply chain and logistics field

• I request/source quotations from the service provider of the required commodity (Asset Management: IT, Furniture, Audio visual Services, Language Services, Inventory Management, Security,) • Create, display and change Purchase order and forward them to the service providers. • Expedite the invoices from the service providers and ensure that they are the same with our purchase order and their quotations, before submitting the whole pack to the GRN officer, who will then begin the process of payments. • Liaise with the Service provider of the chosen commodity, by ensuring that I communicate the time, date and place of the service delivery clearly and accurately to avoid any miscommunication and mistakes.
