I worked at Highveld Steel that has closed. Currently I am employed at Merit Homes (Witbank) as a trainee Estate Agent in order to broaden my work experience. It has given my valuable experience in sales and working with customers.

Best learning experience

Good team work, attend morning meetings with production managers then come share the tasks with my team, attend daily break downs and planed maintenance.

I learn alot from the company

Working in the Laboratory using various instruments and techniques,working as a team. and working independently .water Analysis, reporting of results,instrumental calibrations, Optimization to ensure correct analysis of sample. SOP. Quality standard,Knowledge of operation of Analytical Equipment : ICP-OES, ICP-MS, AAS.XRF.GC.LECO.FTIR. Auto titrator,Hot plate .Weighing balances and Manual titration

Pros: it was great opportunity to learn more about Laboratory equipment

Learning

Working for evraz highveld steel helped me grow in this field of process control and instrumentation, I have been exposed to a lot of PLC and lots of field instrument, I have been exposed to middle managerial skills.

Wonderful working environment with opportunities for growth.

Even after my retrenchment - it is still one of the highlights of my career. It was a great company to work for with opportunities for growth and development.

Hard worker and good learner

I was working in crane section doing inspection on a cranes. Working as a Rigger doing inspection on lifting tools and working at hight and confine spaces. We where working as a team I can even do cutting and welding even fitting because we where helping one another.

Good company

Manufacturing steel and vanadium excellent company you could learned lots about engineering industry components on how to maintain it. Been there I've grow a lot in my career and gained enough experience on mechanical side.

Excellent practical sense of theory

Lovely orientation to engineering and the environmental challenges faced while working. Opportunity to learn about each stage of making steel and to realise that safety begins with you from when you first set foot on the premises until you knock off.

Pros: learning to work efficiently under pressure
Cons: women have to work twice as hard to prove that they are equal if not better to their male counterparts.

This has equipt me enough knowledge. I have learn a lot of different systems and instruments. Also got exposed to management skills. It given me enough knowledge in this field of control
