Excellent learning curve, great place for experience.
I have learnt a lot in this company and enjoy working with the team as they are very professional and helpful. There's a variety of systems and software being used so I take advantage of that and ensure I learn about them. Challenges that we face mostly are the times of getting work as it is too early and you leave too late.

Stable working environment
e to getMy stay at Ethekwini Municipality was very fruitful and I enjoyed the benefits. Staff was friendly and co operative. As we reached the end of a period where many staff members had to retire and was replaced with new staff that placed us as administrators under tremendous pressure as these young staff did not come with the cultures and background that was desired in team building sprirt of the Ethekwini Region. stability and good pension for retirement.

Poor environment
We are underutilised and there are no prospects for change or improvement. The corruption is astronomical and if you speak up against it, you become a target.

FAST LEANER
I have strong administrative, organizing and time management skills. Knowledge and experience in general office management. Ability to manage workload effectively under stressful condition and I can work extra hours if required with little or no supervision. I have leadership qualities which include innovativeness, very motivated, assertiveness and a team player. Good written and verbal communication skills, Interpersonal, problem solving and decision making skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Good telephone etiquette and I communicate well with people from different levels and personalities.

Its great exposure to the public sector and business environment
A typical work day: I arrive at work between 7:30 and 8:00 and plan my day using my daily To-Do list. I then attend meetings and tick items off my list. Your relationship with co-workers: I have a lovely professional relationship with my colleagues and seniors. What you have learnt: I have been introduced to a different side of the government operations which includes business management and business continuity. What you enjoy most: I enjoy how every day is different from the last.
