I startes ats a trainee for Process Tecnician job. I started working in the plant as process Tecnician trained and later became a senilt Process Technician. Then I started trainning asas a PCT while I was dworking I was studying yowards safety Management. IThat is wh~re I devoloped love for safety because in my environment it is always a prikrity. I went to safety Department as a safety officer. This is where I am currently. I am. I I am a hard-working, work very with the team. I enjoy seeing people coming cong work and going home safe to tbeir families safe and healthy. This has been a great experience for me and I love what I am doing.
Pros: There was growth within tbe industry
Cons: Working long hours during shut down.

A Mechanical Engineers Training ground
Every day has its own “agenda” - Being in the Maintenance Mechanical in the Refinery, There never a dull day. Keeping our “Customer” ( Operations ) happy is our prerogative. As an Engineer , there is much to learn and grow. This environment provides excellent engineering exposure in the mechanical engineering design, planned maintenance , repairs and Fabrication of pressurized equipment and process piping.
Pros: Excellent environment for Engineering exposure
Cons: Limited progression / promotion opportunities

Design
good working teamwork on different projects daily,have a good working relationships with my colleagues,I have that it is important to stick to the standards of instrument engineering at all times,I enjoy the interaction with colleagues on different project deliverables,and producing quality designs on projects making sure there is no faults on my design,the most challenging aspect of my daily work is keeping up with the demand odf quality design work

Platform for becoming a pioneer.
Started Maint. Planner job without SAP experience and MS Proj and without someone to show around and coach here & there but still coming out strong and good., Moved from area unit to a Central Maint. Planning within 3 mth. And this is a very challenging post because one plan for the whole refinery. People carrying out job in the field or on site are supportive, they give regular and feedback and indicate things needed in advance. Come execution day we just excel. No delays.
Pros: There is great platform for venturing in other Jobs such as Quality Management, Safety & Health
Cons: No Planning Assistants so Planner does everything. This makes one day longer.

Petroleum Industry
My current company is a huge petroleum company based in Durban, I was exposed in deferent workspace, and that helped to grow as an individual. What I enjoyed most is the fact that we were exposed in different expects of the refinery. What was little bit challenging was the fact that the whole refinery depend on us on finding all the document any department could require
Pros: what good about working for Engen Refinery was that it a huge company with different cultures but we embrace it like one big family
Cons: the best thing about long working hours is that it pays out

I am hardworking and work well with others, I take every opportunity that avails itself.
It is a great company with lots of opportunities. It has a good learning environment and gives you a good view of the industry and engineering field. The company encourages you to study more and better yourself.

Progressive
Typical day starts with review of process plant operation. Engagement with operations team and determine if there are any limitations. Review current operation against plan and optimize. Update and perform tasks to reach medium to long term goals or projects. Team is always motivating each other to improve service and reach targets.
Pros: Large technical team with lots of knowledge, multi disciplined teams
Cons: Engagement after hours due to criticality of operations

Excellent working curve
Good company to work for staff is friendly and helpful when you need help. always willing to assist in any way when you need help. Supeevisots and managers ate helpful and friendly, producing best quality of results it what matters and giving results on time makes it easier for operatars to do their work thouroughly and giving our customesrs their products on a good condition. lives of people matters

need a strong team work must be planned at all times learn different sections around the organisation most challenging to to do a project that you have no knowledge about
