Great opportunity to start my career

On a day to day submission and reports are to be done consult in different divisions within the Department. There is a good interaction with colleagues and management. I learnt a lot on change management methodologies, transformation and induction. Getting good feedback from my manager and making progress. It was a bit of a challeng to implement change strategies in a unionised environment, it would take more than the time set to implement a project.

Pros: It was a great opportunity to learn

Trade policy analysis and economic relations.

I am currently working for The Department Trade and Industry as a Deputy Director: Europe and I am responsible for Implementing South African Trade policy, strategy and plans for promoting international trade and investment in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. I have previously worked as an Assistant Director for five years dealing with issues related to trade policy, trade and investment promotion and economic development in the North Africa region. I have also previously worked in the National Department of Agriculture as an Agricultural Economist for three years dealing with issues related to Agricultural trade policies and development in South African Customs Union (SACU).

Excellent working environment which gives access to interact both nationally and internationally thvancing the employees work skills and competencies. es to express their views and thereby promoting innovations while exercising high level of ethical standard. Relationship with co workers is of the highest standard as the department promote an open policy which allows everyone to express their feelings which result in an amicable conflict resolutions. My work environment taught me the spirit of team work and always respecting the views of other colleagues. What i like most in my current work the developmental strategies aiming at advancing the employees work skills and competencies.

I worked at the department of trade and industry as a hr operations trainee and i was responsible for appointments.instating housing allowances.retirements.pensions.probations and capturing leaves

A good start to gain practical working experience

I get exposure to learn different cultures and languages, I have gained skills and practical work experience in executing Projects, the department Have a good relationship with my team members and share the laughter, have a restoration room as I am Christian that is dedicated to prayer, getting support from colleagues on areas of work that I dont understand, I learnt to be punctual as my boss always require tasks to be done on time, get opportunity to travel international, get to be known by the companies the dti assist with funding, the staff within the office likes to throw some jokes, assisting on multiple projects a bit challenging.

Pros: To get to be part of the plans and initiatives to uplift the economy
