I learned so much during my time in SARB

During my time in SARB i enjoyed the culture of the bank with its open communication, integrity and resilience. Since i was based in financial reporting i learnt alot about accounting including updating financial statements and balance sheets using Oracle n GL wand. I did not face much challenges besides that i was a contractor.

Pros: Good benefits
Cons: Some employees were treated special

It is been great to work here. You learn a lot to work with the public. It also gave me the opportunity to deal with difficult clients on a daily basis. It's just that promotion is rare to find

Excellent learning Curve

I have been granted the best opportunity to work under supervision and do well in finance and assets at Home Affairs. My colleagues are great people to work with I have learnt the most important thing of working as a family and gaining skills along the way. On a day-day basis new experiences emerge and I take great preassure in work out of my comfort zone I think that is what grooms me.

Pros: Great environment
Cons: Not getting a permanent position

Excellent learning experience

The office is always busy. I have learnt a lot about the legal framework and how to apply these in my daily work. The Department encourages educational development and even offers training in selected disciplines.

Pros: I can almost say guaranteed job security
Cons: There are no promotion opportunities

A starting point

The department of Home Affairs was a great starting point in the social sciences field. I have since developed into BCom and would like to gain career relevant experience in HR.

Pros: Teaches you self discipline and dedication to work
Cons: Long working hours and far from home

Progressive Organization and a good industry to learn around

I learn a lot from my colleagues and even made friends so far. We share ideas as a team, it can be work related or personal. I learned to prioritize issues and also to be able to respond to incidents according to organization's protocols. I enjoy being in a field than to be in an office as my job requires more technical job at hand than admin or paper work The most challenging of my job is to drive around trying to reach user's end point to actually find out what they are experiencing in a situation where they are unable to describe their problem telephonically

Pros: Good environment to work at
Cons: I prefer short working hours with 100% complete job
