Consolidated Power Projects Reviews

Excellent for career progression in the field

With the current structure, we have different entities that has allocated HR personnel in it. This has allowed us to collaborate as a team with each personnel in an entity. It has given me an opportunity to learn and understand the dynamics in each entity and their different personalities. The most part that fascinate me is to working on the integrated HR systems.

Pros: Career Progression
Cons: High turnover due to project based model

Fast learning

I am currently working as project engineer, I manage projects from inception to completion. I manage the construction teams from supervisor to linesmen (28 people). I have a very good relationship with my colleagues, we share ideas and experience on our different projects to try and empower each other. I have learnt to relay massage and to solve problems timelessly. I enjoy the challenge of my job which keeps on my toes all the time and the problem solving, managing stakeholders and clients. But mostly to deliver projects as per the clients request, within budget.

Pros: Very high rate of learning new things and facing challenges.
Cons: Working long hours and managing a lot of subcontactors and employees.

Being exposed to construction of new substation, managing three projects at the same time.

Working as team, and to come up with different ideas and to ensure good quality of work. The most important thing that I enjoyed was to work with different sub-contractors, ensuring that everything that they do is of good quality and its according to specification. The most challenging part was civil contractor, they wanted to do work according their own understanding which is total different from client specification. But I manage to work with them doing work according to client specification.

Pros: to be promoted from Engineer in Training to Junior Project Engineer.
Cons: working overtimes and I do not gat paid for overtimes, but was enjoying because it was for my own knowledge.

CONCO - great opportunity to gain experience

Typting aid to the completion of the projectTypical work day is me starting early, going through mails and planning how to tackle the tasks at hand. Have a good working relationship with co-workers, very collaborative team. I learnt to tackle tasks I'm not used to. Also to work on multiple projects, with different criterias. I enjoy drawing on CAD programs, doing new designs or even the normal required drawings. Most challenging aspects is working on local and international projects as each have their own unique requirements. Also the various project managers. But this has also pushed me in a way

Pros: Experience gained, flexible working hours
Cons: Unstable future, poor project management on some projects
