I worked for the city of ekurhuleni for the past 5 years. Moved from one clinic to the other, even mobile clinic. I have learned a lot, I have acquired experience in HIV/AIDS and TB management, diagnosing and managing non communicable diseases, consulting and treating acute Illnesses, immunization, management of childhood Illnesses, family planning (including insertion and removal of implanon), ante natal care and mental health. I had the opportunity to act as a facility manager. Working hours were great 08h00 to 16h30 Monday to Friday. Worked as a team with co-workers, other disciplinary team and supporting NGO's. Over crowding was our daily challenges but with a great team of co-workers we would manage to complete our daily tasks in time. I resigned this year (2019) January. I'm currently doing part time with sandton medi-clinic as a floater, which very challenging because I have to cover all departments.

Cons: Covering more than 2 departments in 1 night

I have completed NATIONAL DIPLOMA: INTERNAL AUDITING at Tshwane University of Technology the year ended December 2015 and currently pursuing internal audit internship at Ekurhuleni internal audit department as since 1 July 2017 till today

Excellent learning curve

My name is Velly Shabangu, a student at the Vaal University of Technology on a part time base. I was given an opportunity to come and get the Experience needed for the completion of my National Diploma in Civil Engineering at City of Ekurhuleni under Roads and Storm-water maintenance division. I am so grateful to have been afforded such a great opportunity. My typical day at work: we start by going to a meeting, that meeting is attended by the different team leaders/supervisors of respective operational activities. So my main duties is always has to do with hired contractors, if there is work that i need to do they assign that duty to me.

Pros: Great opportunity for a permanent job
Cons: The current stipend is just way too little

good exposure to operations and administration at large, improve my skill s in customer care and services While completing my BA studies I worked part-time as an Assistant Administrator at Restaurant (Casalinga Italian Restaurant). My responsibilities in this role included capturing customer’s details on the system (GAPPA), providing face-to-face customer service After completing my BA I got a chance to work for the City Of Ekurhuleni in a fixed term contract as an Assistant Administrator, my responsibilities in this role included Compiling and finalising reports for the department, Collating activity stats for department,Diary management,Front Desk Customer Service,Telephonic customers service,Time Sheet Processing,Capturing Employees Leave using payday service,Processing Employees Leave using payday service, Front Desk Customer Service and Telephonic

I do like working under pressure , and willing to perform my duty

Capturing application Facilitate students Organising Training and Catering Preparing the venue Conduct Induction Meetings Manage the reception area Perform all administrative duties Assist with the advertising processes of the Department’s vacancies, and verify application. Faxing, Photo copying, scanning and emailing. Sorting CVs according to their references number and region. Contacting candidates for interview. Call candidates for interview. Make appointment letters. Calculate the scoring of the candidates after interview. Shortlisting application following the EE Act and policy of recruitment.

Pros: I didn't get the opportunity to get promotion
Cons: 8 hours per day

Budget driven environment with a huge social impact

WORKING FOR A METROPOLITAN CITY IS EXTREMELY DEMANDING. CAPITAL BUDGET HAS TO BE MANAGED PROPERLY TO PREVENT WASTEFUL AND FRUITLESS EXPENDITURE. THERE IS A HUGE EMPHASIS ON QUALITY MANAGEMENT TO ENSURE THAT BUILDINGS COMPLY WITH NATIONAL REGULATIONS AND ALL STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS.

Cons: Limited growth potential

Excellent learning experience

mplains about service delivery, connecting people to the relevent deparough phone, giving directions to people who need to go to certain offices/ department. Relation with co workers was always good positive motivated workers who are committed to bringing good service. Communication skills , client based relationship for long time repeat business, food and building unity amongst co workers in that particular company, field work, long ques, jergon when Having meetings , unrulely people and people who expect things to be done sometime same day.

I WORKING FOR MUNICIPALITY ,THERE IS NO CHALLENGE ,I WOULD LIKE GROW THROUGH FINANCE AND LEARN MORE OUTSIDE,I LEARN HOW TO DEAL WITH CLIENTS AND WE ARE WORKING AS A TEAM.

Need more experience on top of the skills and experience i have obtained in all the years.

Working with Suppliers on A daily based. Satisfying end users in what needs they needed. Working with Tenders and adjudications of tenders. Meeting deadlines. Working with Senior Management and employees in my Level.
