Excellent learning curve

I worked in casualty department I have gained alot of experience, it was good working at CMJAH, I have learned how to resus, to do a blood gas and interpret it, i enjoy the adrenaline rush of saving a life, the challenging part is when a patient end up diseased

Great learning curve

I work in an oncology specialty ward, it has been a great learning place. I've learned about different types of cancers and their treatment plans. I have also had an opportunity to provide counselling to patients and families that are affected

Excellent communication skills

Its been a very great working experience since we learn a new thing each and every day.I able to face every challenge that I face every day.I have also developed the skills of working with different kinds of people.

Non beneficial micro policies

THERE IS NO ORDER AT ALL is nothoderTHE MANAGEMENT ALWAYS DECIDE TO DO WHAT SUITS THEMM, THEY NEVER CONSULT WITH JUNIOR STAFF MEMBERS AND THEYB NEVER COME IN THE WARDS TO CHECK ON PATIENTS AND THE STAFF.SO,BASICALLY THE INSTITUTION IS POORLY MANAGED. THE MANAGEMENT IS ALSO NOT WELL SKILLED IN CONFLICT MANAGEMENT OR HANDLING OF COMPLAINTS WITH IN THE HOSPITAL

Progressive Organisation

Working here has been generally great. A highly busy and involved work environment with colleagues who are like family. It has been an interesting experience and journey with many challenging times and different situations which require a thorough application of learned work skills and information. I'm generally happy with what I learned in the years spent at Charlotte Maxeke and the people I've worked with over the years. I hope to use all the skills I've learnt here in my new job. Working here took a long time, patience and training in order for me to be the professional I am today. I'm blessed.

Good place to gain experience

Very hard working conditions. Requires someone willing to learn and grow in their career. Good professional medical and nursing teams available. Skilled employees. Hospital is very big not always user friendly to navigate around. Good hospital for new young employees with vibrant energies. Typical working day generally means shortages of staff and overworking. A day is improved by well trained skilled co workers who work well as a team and support each other, especially a new person who cant cope with the environment. Learnt to work as an independent professional nurse able to care for and resuscitate a patient independent and competently. Most challenging aspect was not being able to communicate with foreign patients not able to understand english.
