Excellent experience gained

There is no typical day at CEB as you always have a different site where you need to work, the freedom of movement is fantastic. Co-workers are fun and we are always laughing together making jokes. I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge with regards to Retail IT software and hardware, networking, troubleshooting and physical repairs of equipment. Every day presents a new challenge as you need to think fast and always make sure you have a solution in my mind for any problem or obstacle.

Pros: Lots of overtime
Cons: Not a good chance of promotions

Enhancing my troubleshooting skills with laptops & printers

I'm young and aspiring IT employee, I'm fascinated by Technology, love working with computer's especially software's, Im a Certified Computer Technician. Studying towards (MCSE). Well-presented, well-mannered and articulate helpdesk support profession with extensive experience of performing diagnostic and resolving a customers technical problems via telephone, email and one to one. Having a proven track of record of successfully finding the root causes of problems, resolving them or forwarding suggestions for improvements. Having to deal with customers on a daily basis, adhereing to their requests and assistance.

I would like to find a position that pays well and is busy during working hours.

I start working at 7:15am through to 5:00pm. Very busy position answer to the mails that have accumulated over night and start with the tasks of the day including CEO Diary, travel, etc. Ensuring the 5 executives under the CEO are working on their tasks assigned by him. Received the reporting, consolidating reports and forward to CEO. Need to respond to mails and messages after hours and on weekends. I get on well with the co-workers, though no time to socialize. I have learnt time management and attention to detail. I enjoy the challenge of getting everything done on time and winning. Getting all the Execs to complete their tasks and reports on time.

Pros: I have learnt a lot and have enjoyed the challenges
Cons: Long working hours.

Retail Point of Sale IT environment, Fault finding and resolving, Installations of new hardware and software, Being on standby after hours, telephonic support for customers, Repairs, Maintain Customer hardware and software, replacement or repair of customer hardware, reinstall customer software if needed (Windows and any other software needed), Setting up switches and routers, laying cables (CAT5), setting up wireless networks and security, setting up customer Email Accounts on computer and archiving (Exchange), installing and configuring local and network attached printers (Shared or Network connected) and MFP type printers (HP, Lexmark, Brother, Cannon, OKI, Kyocera), perform Preventative Maintenance on customer hardware.

Pros: Petrol card, medical and pension
Cons: Long hours, work public holidays

Informative, competative and a definately learning boast for me

My working for CEB/BCX has exposed me vast experience in logistics, staff and warehouse management, storekeeping and stock control, and stores layout. I am also exposed to complex warehousing computer systems, that help in tracking asset, stock management and control. My system tools would comprise of excel, word, navision, common parts processing system and many more inhouse systems. I enjoy working with people, teaching or training them on various aspects of logistics and also in the process learn a lot from them. The challenging aspect of the job is to intergrate staff of different background and upbringing, the language, cultures and religion being the most deterant.

Pros: opportunities for personal growth
Cons: working hours are determined by customer requirements

No growth at all

Somehow the chiefs think they are Gods and they can treat you however they like. No management skills. Take everything so personal and never forget something you did even if you already got punished for your doings

Pros: The team is cool
Cons: Long working hours. Favoritism. Little money
