My seven years at Boland College...

At Boland College I received a wide range of exposure to the Skills Development Arena. I worked with 21 Setas as Accreditation Manager, Implementation Manager, Sourcing New Business as well as Manager: Work Integrated Learning. I received opportunity to grow in my career. I am a giver in all aspects of my life and thus have a good relationship with my co-workers. The job is very stressfull and thus you need to live a balanced life.

Pros: Great opportunity for growth
Cons: Key people stay in positions until they retire.

Doing the best I can.

I report to the Infrastructure Manager. the 2 of us oversee all Facilities related queries to all 6 Campuses spread out throughout the Boland region. We work hand in hand as with some of the campuses being close to 50 000m2 in size, it is extremely challenging. We pride ourselves as being the top TVET/FET college according to the Department of Higher Education and Training and the Infrastructure Department delivered the top rated facilities on offer in the related category.

Pros: Free education for our emmediate families
Cons: Long hours and doing 6 peoples work

Nice relaxing atmosphere

Love working with students. Relaxed atmosphere. training opportunities is available. Co - workers is reliable. Learnt a lot about procurement. Tax reviews. Got a opportunity to study further in my field. To meet deadline I find challenging.

Dedicated and hardworking

A typical day at work would include: Receive and direct and relay telephone messages Answer all incoming calls and handle caller’s inquiries whenever possible Re-direct calls as appropriate and take adequate messages when required Greet, assist and /or direct students, visitors and the general public.

I have good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills

maintain close relationship with the student administration, marketing department and other college personnel. I learned how to multi-task, working with groups, working with students, conducting surveys and interviewing students and how to assist them with career advice.I enjoy working with many people, working as team and independently. I have been given a task to finish within two days but the scope of the task was to be done within a period of two weeks, however I focus to my task and getting my job done with the scope of the project.

Pros: conducting exhibition local and provincia
Cons: working extra hours, saturdays, sundays and public holidays
