Wonderful opportunity

I work in a technical/project department. I support the plant with manufacturing process documentation. Updateing and creating process documentation sheets. I support project engineers with micro planning, scheduling as well as raising of EBP's using SAP. I am current the champion of introduction of engineering changes on parts as per customer requirements, (changing of only singular part in the already running projects). I work well with my coworkers, we collaborate well to achieving a common goals. I learn from everyone I work with.I have leanrt also to be responsible, be a leader and take decisions. I enjoy conducting feasibility studies, working in the design point of view, comparing engineering drawing and the actually parts at the plant and the equipment. I basically enjoy the technical work where I work both with drawings and the plant (design). The attention and micromanagement is a bit overwhelming at times

Excellent learning curve

I am a young and vibrant industrial engineer, with over 4 years experience in the automotive industry mainly dealing with lean manufacturing, QMS Documentation ,Supply chain management, project management and initiating projects towards continuous improvements I have recently attained a green belt in six sigma , which required a saving of R250k in order to attain the certificate. This project has greatly improved my analytical abilities towards problem solving. Some of my duties includes : 1) Designing control systems to minimize and resolve production issues and project costs. 2) Create systems and plan production to ensure all products meet quality control standards. 3) Develop standards for production and design by working with clients and management. 4)Review production information to understand methods and activities in manufacturing and services. This includes, but is not limited to, production schedules, process flows and engineering specs

WORK EXPERIENCE

My SAP knowledge has grown immensely in the last year that I have worked here, due to support of all SAP Processes from Production, to Bill of Materials, to MRP, Master Data, Finance, Accounting & Customer/Vendor Accounts. Previously I have held positions as a SAP SD Analyst and a SAP Project Accountant but never as involved in the WMS, Logistics and Production modules as I am now. My main area of responsibility is to ensure data integrity, Master data and creation of Bill of Materials include Routings, Production Versions & Work Centers. I report directly to the Production Director and am a part of the Project Engineering team. I would like to be considered for this position as I feel I can add value to this project due to my 17 years of SAP experience.

Generally working at Benteler is quite a challenge for any person who wants to learn more everyday

- Good company with different challenges - I am learning something new everyday - Dealing with different suppliers - Dealing with supplier concerns everyday and work hand in hand with the supplier in sorting all those quality concerns - Working with in plant quality engineers on internal investigation regarding the defects found on parts - Working a team of engineers on customer issues raised

It is a good company if you work hard

i start at 06h45 in the morning instead of 07h30 I receive parts i check and measure them i make sure that my equipment get calibrated regularly i pass good parts or reject bad parts i make out non conformance reports and liaise with suppliers i make sure that defective parts do not reach our production lines i also assist other staff members and are very keen to help others i am very popular with everyone in the work place i enjoy my work and always go the extra mile

Cons: very long hours sometimes without overtime

Learnt Alot on Robotics and Jigs

Processes to making of parts and components is very interesting. Co workers are friendly. The shift work however can be a challenge as the night shift is 6 to 6. a very gruesome 12 hours. Overall good work experience.

Pros: its a job
Cons: Shift work, No training or improvement due to budgets.
