Redefining the art of communication

The role provides an opportunity to change peoples mind-set and instil a positive change towards sustainable development. Through teamwork, anything is possible. Engaging stakeholders and advocating their concerns is central to my job. Budgetary constraints pose a challenge in terms of executing long-term projects.

Excellent learning curve with great mentoship

There is no one to put pressure during the day, you just have to be responsible and committed to your work. Worker are friendly and supportive if assistance is needed. I have learnt a lot including liaising with clients, how to finish a task in time and aspects in both System development and business intelligence. What's challenging is that you have to try your best to complete a given task in a given time.

Cons: very long stairs

I've got exposed to a lot of things

My work consist of software development. depending on the workload i have or the number of projects I've been given, i start with what is due soon and then the last 3 hours of work i focus on the projects that are due later. We are a small department so we are close and we always have team building sessions every month. I have learnt to work with large data sets on Python, learnt image processing using python opencv, opencv.js and matlab. I enjoy doing web design, i'm currently busy with 3d modelling using three.js. using three.js is currently the most challenging job i've done so far

Pros: I got exposed to a lot of programming languages
Cons: it's somehow hard to master a certain programming language because i hardly spend a lot of time on it

Hard working individual whose eager to learn more from others

Typical work day I check if all the backups ran fine and check my call assignment system for any new calls under my name otherwise If I don't have any calls I help my colleagues with their then continue do research as to how we can improve in terms of service delivery to our customers. We learn new things everyday from different individuals and find a way of how to tackle massive incidents or problems.

Pros: Good career development
Cons: Not much support from managers

Bedding down the Turnaround Strategy

My job has been to bed down the Turnaround Strategy. This comes with its challenges of stakeholder engagement internally and externally especially resistance to change. Lessons learnt is to communicate and communicate. Focus on the bigger picture but also the details within my team, my EXCO. I’ve enjoyed the challenges of this transition period.
