An excellent learning curve

I'm responsible for promoting the organizational bran to both internal and external stakeholders. I also have to ensure that our internal stakeholders live according to our values by frequently communicating the values to them. I'm a content developer where I source and write good stories for our internal newsletter and also for external media houses. I also do video coverage for our events and campaigns. I am a team player and this has assisted me in working very easily with my colleagues and having their trust to open up to me when I need to do their profiles. My bubbly personality has played a role in my career as I form part of the organisation team. What I enjoy most is the fact that my position requires me to be creative and to always apply my skills and knowledge at all times and this also give me the opportunity to learn from various stakeholders and from my colleagues. The most challenging aspect of my career is being away from home for a longer period and also working very long hours at times

Excellent worker

I am working 12 hour shift and i am able to work under pressure I have a good relationship with co-workers they have voted for me 5 times in the row as a worker of the month. I have learnt to always keep calm at all times and be always professional. I enjoy to work with different kind of people and to also learn how to deal with them in a professional meaner. Is the long hours

Pros: I will like to grow in the company
Cons: I am used to work long hours such as 12 hours or double shift if it is needed

It is good and I like it and I enjoy my work I work well with others

It is good I like working and I love my job is that I wana have some new challenge and again more experience I like to learn new things in life and I work well with others and its nice because all work we do needs team work if u don't have team work u won't learn anything so I like people and I like to be around them so we can share the ideas of the work most i like is because we work for community and protect the community of I can say the country

Challenging but

My typical work day comes with alot of thinking on your toes type of work. Not everyday is the same it challenges me daily. Our core values are team work we all need each other to make KZN a succeeding province. I have learnt to think on my feet, to stay self motivated as I need to lead by example.

Excellent learning curve, but no future for any promotion

I start my day at 08:00 and finishe at 16:00 according to my Job specs. But I am on duty 24/7 as I do all the flight, accommodation and car bookings and need to be available at the drop of a hat for emergency and any other assistance. I am a team player and get along with my co-workers on a daily basis. I have learnt to be very patient and not to expect anything immediately. I have learnt how HR operates and how to deal with all situations HR related including ccma issues, leave, conflict, interviews ect I love arranging and executing events/interviews/bookings of any nature. Helping employees with problems they seem to be overwhelmed with. The most challenging is keeping every one happy. As I service the whole company as an HR employee and the work and problems never stop. I manage 8 staff allocated to me as their supervisor as well Unfortunately there are no growing room for myself in this company. I want to spread my wings and be more than just a Personal Assistant/ office manager.

Pros: Working on fire pays very well
Cons: But have no benefits or promotion possibilities

Attention to detail and a hard worker

I am Hard worker with good personality, Honesty ,Trustworthy,i have necessary skills that are outline on the Job description, I am a fast learner ,I perform my task within time frame

Pros: I have been promoted from a type fire fighter do a type 3 dispacher
Cons: I can work long working as i have managed to work Shift on a 6 to 6 for more than two years

Fire Fighting

I am currently doing administration,Training of new recruits by learning them how to drill .Assisting with storework,I have being on training as an helicopter pilot assistant.I have being learned how to work with a maximinm of 60 people per day .I like the outdoors and being in the field and the most challenging in my workplace is not dishonest people.

Pros: Hardworking
Cons: shorttemper

Prepares you for any challenges out there

Always busy Co-workers not trustworthy will stab you in back if needed HR ins and out - how many loopholes there are in the system Love all the events and bookings I have done Challenge to work with executives that has no morals and standards working on fire has prepared me to cope with any challenge out there

Cons: You are never assured of your job. no bonus or any pensions or medical

Making a Difference in Lives of Others

I joined the Working on Fire Programme to assist in making a difference in the lives of the most marginalised youth in our country. Th programme is a truly inspirational and has help me to view the working environment and entrepreneurial opportunities in South Africa. I enjoy my engagement with fire fighters and the role I am able to play as mentor and advisor to the working environment entrants. I am also able to use my background and experience to give them some motivation that success can be achieved through hard work and building good relationships. The programme has also opened my eyes to the will of others that are less fortunate and the drive and desire to escape the situations they find themselves in and the joy and jubilation they express when they achieve, even the smallest of goals. The programme has also shown me what real bravery is about as the firefighter’s act as a family and protect each other on the fire-line under harsh conditions and never back out.

Pros: Great Organisation for People Development.
Cons: Not dependent on cutting edge technology.
