Great company with opportunities
A 8 hours shift with an hour lunch, a day start with a morning meeting and then daily tasks follows from supervisor. Every one heads to their station or wherever the tasks directs. Once a task is completed the section manager must sign off the task sheet then proceed to another one. Team work is used where required and safety is number 1 priority

Excellent Learning Curve
As Quality Manager for three different programme that have more than five packages, each day I need to ensure all the daily activities are completed without any deviation from the client specification. Stakeholder engagement is critical to ensure alignment with all the project team. - Lesson learnt through all my involvement is: 1. communication is the key element in project execution. 2. Control measures should be monitored and reviewed at all times 3. Supplier evaluation is critical (that is to ensure good/reliable products/service from suppliers) 4. Record management is key (evidence in case of dispute) What I enjoyed most was do engage with all disciplines (e.g. Civils, Eletrical, Mechanical, suppliers...etc,) The most challenging aspect of my job was travelling (My projects where situated in all provinces).

Good customer relations and a team player
On a typical workday i start with going through my emails and attending the meetings. This helps me to get to plan the day ahead, getting my ducks in a row in the form of scheduling the sub-tasks. I also ensure that the resources and tools are available and accessible before starting the day's task/project. With almost 10 years of experience there is so much that i have learnt ever since i started working for the company. That includes amongst other things design, project and product management, quality management, engineering processes etc. I enjoy attending meetings wherein we conceptualise the designs, be it the locomotive, trucks and coaches. Furthermore,i like the part where we plan, strategise and do the scope of work for the product we planning to design and how this is going to be monitored and controlled.

Growth Opportunity
I have been working as Costing Officer for 7 years , in Cost and Management Department for large manufacturing company Transnet Engineering. This has been given me a great opportunity of leaning business in all aspects. Investigating cost abnormalities , assisting in product costing, budget versus cost analysis ,correcting costs via journals , reconciliations' are my everyday tasks as well as any adhoc work which may be required. Providing service to a large number of people has taught me to deal or handle different people in a different manner and according to their different levels and in doing so I have developed good working relationships amongst them. Having high volume of work and tight deadlines has taught me to prioritize ensuring that deadlines are adhered to in terms of work deliverables.

Great experience
To work at Transnet its a great experience because I learn to communicate with a lot of people during my shift eg :manager, supervisors, machine drivers and department of planning by communicate with all them my job runs smooth and I meet target very easily, challenges that I face is to have breakdown with the machines that I'm running with because i can't meet my target

Working hard
Working in Transnet I have experience a lot of challenge when its came to finish my job I have to repeat the measurement of my work to make sure its accurate,but I always make it right on time .Working with my Co-workerd was great experience most helping each other and we had good communition if something went wrong we solve it by ourselves.Most thing I enjoy about my work I just operate the machine and finish the job by itself and I just measure is it on right size and I was happy all the time if I was asked to finish my 300 bush in a day I managed because in must Tarret lathe manage to do 5 bush in 4mins of my time. I have learnt I must never give up no matter how hard is the work has to be done by the day.
