The nature of our organisation is to improve TB and HIV management by increasing access to TB and HIV diagnosis, care, treatment and community-based treatment adherence support. This depends on the efficiencies of all departments but more so, the HR Department. I am responsible for the Recruitment Function and is based at the Head Office in Cape Town. A typical work day consists of : new funding received by our funders and budgets are set to employ the staff to deliver the services in the field. I will review the budgets, arrange advertising matrix to ensure maximum reach of the relevant cadres of staff.I have come to learn that "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts", getting everybody to work together is bliss. The excitement when my team members comes up with a new idea and exploring new and improved ways of work. Most challenging aspect is having to be bold as the buck stops with me.

Good learning curve
TB/HIV Care Association its health organisation that deals with TB & HIV, I am working at head office as a receptionist/switch board operator and we've got a big switch board with +/- 58 extensions. My job is to answer the phone and taking messages, book the venues for the meeting, make sure every morning the reception is clean and tidy, print the register every morning for the staff to sign in and out, order stationery and shipping of the material to other branches. My relationship with my co-workers is very good with all of them. I have grown a lot here and I have learnt a lot either, especially about TB & HIV. I enjoy working with people and I enjoy helping them a lot. it’s when the phone is busy and I need to do some other work away from my desk, it’s a challenge because we don't have a cordless phone other than that I don't have challenges on my work because I've been a receptionist for TB/HIV Care for more than 7 years.

Room of growth
Multitask good relationship with co-workers, able to criticise each other and learn I have learn to appreciate other co-workers and confidentiality of clients issues Helping Clients to their satisfaction and meeting deadlines To always stay Calm when you talk to Clients even if you are not okay personally

Learning to be patience when working with peope, calm and humbly
I have how to cooperate with different people and how to overcome challenges when facing difficulties. I also learn more about dealing with phone calls incoming and outgoing calls, gaining more information on customer care, dealing with different service providers who are rendering their services e.g making orders,receiving and sending parcls.

Good learning curve
i go to different rural areas sometimes walking for an hour or so; so as to reach the work are and i work with the department of health, i have a good relationship with my co-workers. i learnt that some areas do not receive health care services and they lack financially which makes it difficult for them to go to health care facilities and those on treatment end up defaulting

Excellent experience
It is a great experience being a data capturer. I have learnt the importance of staying focused when doing my job and working under pressure. Since I work in a very broad environment, I have gained communication skills and how to have a good relationship with my co-workers.

Working Experience with tb HIV associates
Working for tb/HIV associates has and its very interesting for me. It has gave me an incribable knowledge that I can be applied in almost every situation because I have received several trainings. Working for tb HIV has given me much experience that I can applied any where in an office industry and in a field industry as well.

Expediencies of working in correctional facilities
Exciting and challenging, Unique environment. Long working hours. Excellent working relationship with stakeholders. I rear experience in working with correctional services. Enjoyed interacting with prisoners. Environment very sensetive
